Topic: school is a prison

School is becoming closer and closer to a prison every moment i'm there. We got a new wing in the school, the rooms are almost colorless. They're all white and brick walls. Smaller than the rest of the rooms, it looks more like a prison everyday. Even though it's near exams the amount of work we get is increased by like 10fold i usually can finish my homework by 10pm if i start at around 8pm and take a few breaks. this time i stayed up until 4am. These kids are almost totally indoctrinated to everything. No one seems to care about current events. I was talking to a kid on my bus once, he had no opinions about most events or things and trusted blindly in president bush because... his parents told him to. He asked me why should we care? People seem so stupid it's sad, people next to me being proud they got a D- No one even knowing who say sharon is, they accept the media without questioning anything they hear. If i ease into telling them how 9/11 was staged by the U.S. and start arguing for it. Their reply is... But i saw on CNN that they said it was that bin laden guy. NO current events or anything like that is even talked about in school, by the teachers or by the students. 98% of my school is complete human sheep, This isn't any education at all, I know you guys all know school is more like a prison but thought u might like to know the view of a kid stuck in the system

Nice post Spartan, i see schooling as more of an indoctrination into the establishment matrix where limited subject based education and vocational training are confused with true knowlege, intelligence and the ability to think for yourself.
When they leave school its often the vocationalists who end up deeper in the matrix than others, look at medical Doctors, most people think these are clever people but they only mirror and repeat what they have been indoctrinated into accepting and rarley  do they question or have the ability to think outside their indoctrination, parrots.
When i have come accross people like who you mention i just ask them,  do you allow the media and the establishment  to do your thinking for you and to program you or are you capable independant thought.
As has been discussed on here many times it seems that at least 50% of the population whether they be OPs or whatever are incapable of escaping from establishment brainwashing and no words will ever change their minds.

Its not like we are fractions of the whole but rather versions of the whole.

I agree with you Spartan.  I experienced the same thing in high school, the prison-type environment, can't do this, can't walk here, don't ask questions, follow everyone blindly... its all very annoying at times. 

I am now in university and I have evolved into a more clearer understanding of my purpose of being in that environment. 

What I do at school is try to apply each subject I am taking into philosophy, spirituality, metaphysics and so-on.  For example, in physics yesterday we were talking about the diffraction of light in mirrors and prism, I then began to think about our current 'hollographic' universe and how our thought waves are manifested in matter.  And as I thought about it I came up with various questions, although I didn't speak of them outloud. 

Think of school as your training ground.  Take all your newly aquired skills and techniques and apply them in school.  Rather than thinking of everyone as sheep, think of them as spiritual being inside a body, and know that they have been manipulated/misinformed about the nature of reality, and then proceed to accept it.  Then with your understanding you will have the awareness to be still and observe rather than judge and let it get to you.

Once your still, people will come to you for the answers, and/or your awareness will show you "who is ready to be unplugged of the matrix" so to speak.  Think of yourself as Neo and Morpheus. The one, and the one who free's the one. wink

Hey, Sparten I to am to in schooooool. Im in a Catholic high school.
I while ago I was thinking like you to. I became resentful, hatefull, and just couldn't stand school.

You become what you hate, so don't hate anthing. Try to be very calm, and just be present.
Now I too was at a point where I was a school bashing coco, I'm no saying your a coco, lol, but I think it's better to "plant seeds, not pick weeds"

In a while with some luck you'll accept school, and just understand that thats the present.
I don't know about you but I'm not very good grade wise. But accepting school dosen't mean to obey every rule, just be in peace.

See theres flashlighs and theres reflectors (like the ones on bikes). You must be the flashlight, and then look for the reflectors.
Question the teacher but do not stand out like a sore thumb, plant seeds of thought into the class.
Be patient and wait for the tree to grow and the fruit to ripe. Then you'll feel a bit more comfortable if you know people understand your thoughts.

Pretty soon you'l let go of the ego somewhat and you'll be free somewhat. Some times I can be lost in my own mind, but then I take a deep breath and accept.

It's the emptiness of school thats usefull, not the struture. School and it's people are the bowl,your thoughts and  the education is the luiqid. Make sure you fill the bowl with water not oil and keep at the bottom of it.

You may read this and say wtf is he saying.
I try my best to act as say to act, and not act cool, it's hard to keep level headed in school.
T.V. and Video games kinda don't help, in the big picture, live little on dependency.
You are the leaf of the tree and so you are the tree.

I didn't mean it to come off so hateful, I need to work on my writing alot i often deviate entirely from my point... like right now lol. The post was just meant to tell how they are taking larger and larger steps to make school as disempowering as possible (i put in a very few steps of just a few that the school tried, a few of my teachers tell us outright not to question them!), I accept school and i do get okay grades. Most people would think of me more as the smartest kid in everything but academics. (not in a geek way.) i am doing my best to detatch from this system but it needs many new forms of perspective, example i just said what other people would think instead of what i think, and i thought in sterotypes. It's getting harder for people to "wake up" while they're at this age, if you know the information it's very hard to act upon it

To start off Spartan did you notice we registered on the same day. Just a little synch.

Now about school, I understand school is really neckbreaking, well for me atleast.
What it is when you go to school is you lose yourself in thought and in ego.

This winter vaction I went to skiing. Where I went there was alot of woods, and so being there really brought out something in me.
The real present moment. Then when I came back I read Tolle's book A New Earth, it was like everything was in sync.

Then all my thoughts of how bad school is where inside of my, still present, but I didn't feel emotionally attached to them.
I don't know how to describe it too you.

PS. Im 15 and in 10 grade how about you.

Spartan, hang in there.  Only a few more years left before you can leave those prison walls for a world full of possibilities.  I like Postitivone's view of "plant seeds, not pick weeds".  At this point in your life, it's the best advice to take.

We home school now and feel we have more control over just how much crap is poured into our child's moldable mind.  He attends a "digital academy", so the curriculum is still mainstream, what is different is the instruction.  We have the ability to point out the fallacies of the lessons.  This model works well for us, as I find it easier to work from preset lesson plans than to come up with our own.

More and more people are turning to homeschooling as an alternative to traditional education.  Most states recognize homeschooling as a valid alternative to public schooling.  Parents play the role of teacher and submit yearly lesson plans to the State Board of Education for approval.  At the end of the school year, students take an assessment to show they are making progress. 

Other parents are taking a more drastic step and committing to "unschooling" http://www.unschooling.com/.  In this method, children are taught based on real life situations.  Mom may take the kids grocery shopping for an economics or math lesson.  Kids learn by doing.

Institutions are being challenged by children with so called "disorders" like ADHD, Asperger's, Autism, and others.  Schools do not have the understanding, love and resources necessary to deal with these enlightened souls.  It is my belief that traditional education as we now know it will no longer exist within 20 years.  Children are being born into this world with  more innate knowledge than ever before.  They see through the facade of the lessons they are being taught.  Soon the students will be teaching the teachers.  Most already are, like you.

How deep is the rabbit hole, Alice???
