Dear Digger
kind regards
Naturally I would rather see the Iranian people themselves rise up against their oppressive government than the US and Israel attacking Iran.
Its clearly obvious that the American and Israeli governments would conquer Iran for their own selfish ends rather than the publics concern.
If America and Israel cared about people being opressed by their governments then they'd have invaded Zimbabwe by now and removed Robert Mugabe but they only want to dominate the Middle East for material reasons rather than humanitarian concern.
America's invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq has been a horribly mismanaged situation.
It seems as though the Iraqi's feel worse than when they were under Saddam Husseins leadership.
I also heard about the Opium trade that is out of control in Afghanistan since the American occupation.
Apparently the Taliban regime seized the poppy fields and stopped its distribution but America and its puppet regime have allowed its distribution including flood loads of Opium being exported into the Western World.
I have always tried to understand the contradiction between America setting up regimes(Hussein and Khomeni were CIA installed) and America fighting against these regimes.
Apparently the American government and the Taliban had negotiations and secret deals before the war in Afghanistan.
There seems to be many contradictions where the governments of the World are concerned............Or they are all together in the Illuminati which seems to be the case.
Yours thankfully
John

Moralman wrote:

Although I don't want war its pretty obvious that the present Iranian clerics who rule that country need to be overthrown.

Over the last years a promising opposition has formed in Iran that longs for more democracy, the acceptance of human rights and more freedom. Do you mean this young movement within the country or are you talking about an external invasion, possibly lead by Israel and the US that is aimed at overthrowing political leaders that they are simply uncomfortable with?

Looking at both, Afghanistan and Iraq, I don't see much improvement for the people who live in those countries. While Iraq is and will obviously remain a quagmire for everyone involved for quite some time, the Afghanistan outcome is also far from being a success story. Opium production is higher than ever and outside the big cities the war lords reign still or again.

-dig

Dear Friends
kind regards
I agree with the comments that state religion is being used for evil purpouses.
George W Bush uses Evangelical Christianity as a stepping stone to create wars and to impose a police state on his own people.
I was watching a documentary yesterday on the life of Spanish dictator Francesco Franco and he endorsed "Christian" civilisation whilst killing innocent people-many of whom were opposed to his fascist state.
The documentary stated that Franco had the backing of Pope Pius XII during the Spanish civil war.
All religion are being exploited however Islamic governments seem to treat their people with even more contempt.
The Muslims in some of these nations are banned from education-colleges were burned down in Afghanistan, women are treated hideously and no technological advancement exists only in the form of nuclear weapons.
The Iranian government seems to be a truly despicable government though and fundamentally backwards.
Although I don't want war its pretty obvious that the present Iranian clerics who rule that country need to be overthrown.
Here is a link about how Iran is being run by its government.
http://www.amnesty.org.uk/deliver/document/15557.html
God knows what will happen as the US is set for another showdown with Iran.
Perhaps Israel(The government back the upcoming war anyway), Great Britain, Russia, North Korea and China will be involved too.
Religion is government isn't sane-I think that a politicians religion should be integrity, justice and righteousness and you don't need a religious label outright to adhere to those things.
yours thankfully
John

Hey Moralman,

I have not really read enough about him to know and most of what I understand is 2nd hand knowledge. But Here are some opinions.

I find it interesting that during the big push for space exploration and to land on the moon, a "leader/prophet" of the islamic religion put in a book that the US would not land on the moon... AFTER it already happened. I have not read the book to verify though.

If most islamics are peace loving how is it they are to wage war against the infidels and Christians are mentioned in particular. Again I have not read the Koran to verify. As a (nonmainstream) Christian I realize the atrocities that have been wrought in the name of Christ and am perplexed how it could have even been considered let alone justified. But they have it in there writings to specifically do.

I also find it interesting that Islam is appealling to descendants of slaves when Mohammad himself had slaves.

Do I think he was a seeker? Could be. Do I think he had other motivations? Could have ...hard to dispute with how rigid and controlling it is compared to other "religions."

Is it a legitimate path...sure much like anything else, as long as it doesn't view itself closed, complete, unyielding. I do admire their personal discipline in prayer/devotion, I think most could gain from their example.

I think the reasons they have such an inhumane control is a mix and match bunch of reasons similar to why they are demonized by the west, fear (of what is not known), ignorance(not willing to learn/ empathise with the other side), obstinance(unwillingniess to change or the agree to disagree), greed(by the americans and by the islamic leaders so they can keep their followers down so to speak) and probably more.

Just some thoughts.

Moralman wrote:

If you could answer the questions and get back to me A.S.A.P I'd appreciate it.
yours thankfully

Hello John, I find that you synchronistically post right at the time I want to answer those questions for myself but don't find the opportunity or the time to do so - so thanks.

Islam can be a genuine 'path' in my view. But what is islam, as people each have their own way of dealing with it... it is also in a large respect a matter of regional culture.

I don't know enough about Mohammed to comment on him (yet), there are those who think he was a holy man and those who think he was the opposite. Perhaps the wikipedia or other noospheric memory complexes can tell you more?

Dictators, big and small, political or on your work or in your family you have everywhere, not just in some islamic nations - it's very convenient to use use religion as a support for their rule or abuse. Some say Bush uses religion to gain politcal support... Some say people get the government they deserve. Not all cultures have ventured into the seperation of church and state that is prevalent in the west.

I think islam - just as religion in general - is distorted by some in the west. This is imho largely the result of the shadows of modernity and postmodernism and is very slowly changing for the better. Those outlooks tend to reduce religion as something archaic, backward, a power structure to be abolished etc. These views don't take the individual experiences, meaning, paths to spirituality into account and are as such reductionist.

Islam, like christianity before it is now slowly incorporating the outlook of modernity and postmodernity. With christianity you now see a wide range of different outlooks: evangelical, fundamentalist, progressive, conservative... with islam you will see the same: moderate and fundamentalist and mystical islamic thoughtforms will arise in time.

For more regarding the topic read these articles by these islamists:
Abdolkarim Soroush
Fatema Mernissi
Time Out of Joint - Western dominance, Islamist terror, and the Arab imagination

Dear miminikelo
kind regards
I like to ask the questions and give my opinions when I have had a few responses.
I like to ask questions to gain knowledge but also the questions that I ask do actually lead to conversations, debate and more knowledge which makes the forum interesting.
I have stated previously that I am a learner and like to see the knowledge of others on certain subjects as I have learned alot on here.
I am quite able-minded on subjects but its never smart to draw the line and say you have learned everything.
When I say A.S.A.P I am not demanding or urging a reply that is unreasonable.
People reply when they are ready to reply and only then should they give answers.
I do like to see answers A.S.A.P though but I also realise that people are busy and will answer in their own time as they rightly should do.
OK if you insist I'll give my opinions/answers on the questions that I myself have asked.
1. I am going to assume that Mohammed was a righteous man who created a creed for people to believe in-ie the one true God.
2. I think that Islam may be a genuine religion-however it does contradict Christianity although the overall core root message seems to be the same.
3. According to several sources the fundamental elements of Islam came to the surfice after Mohammeds death and since then Islamic governments appear to be very fundamental.
Some people state that Islamic fundamental leaders are "puppets of the West" and are CIA installed yet hostilities between Western and Islamic governments seem to be at an all-time high so the juries still out on that as far as I am concerned.
On question no.3 I need to know and learn more whuch is why I asked this question.
4. I think that Islam may be demonised or is being conspired against by the Illuminati as Henry Makow PHD believes also.
Then again Islamic leaders and the system of Islam demonises themselves even more.
There seems to be fundamentalists in the Islamic countries that have no grasp on logic or reality but there are fundamentalists in the West too.
There is lots of Oil and apparently lots of treasure in Islamic nations and that may be the reason why the Western elite want a reason to wage war with Islamic nations.
http://paranormal.about.com/cs/humaneni … 041403.htm
5. Hopefully the future of Islamic nations will be rosey but it doesn't look like it will be this way.
Most of the Islamic nations are currently poor and the US leadership wants to establish democracy in these nations yet their is distaste in these nations for this kind of Westernised system so it looks like a future of resistance, strife and chaos.
Iran seems to be next on America's hitlist and is also waging a war of words with Israel.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/3683074.stm
I have given my answers and opinions to my own questions now it is your turn.
yours thankfully
John

Hi John,

Thanks for your questions. For the purposes of a more fluid discussion, I'd like to suggest you give us your opinion on all the questions you have asked. I appreciate you are learning like all of us, so no one has all the answers. So as this is a learning process for all, please give us your opinion or thoughts and then we can respond if we so wish.

There has been some disquiet about the lists of questions you keep posing, as it takes a lot of energy to answer your queries, and you seem to be in the passive situation of soaking up all the information, but giving little of your thoughts or musings in response. Imagine sitting in a cafe and having a chat with someone. Would you pose questions in this way, or might the discussion flow in a manner where opinions and thoughts are just shared back and forth? I would hope the latter.

Your comments about Islam could be applied to any corner of the globe where religious fundamentalism dominates, like America for example. So it is not Islam per se that is the problem, but how the powers that be use it to control masses of people for their own ends.

May I also add that asking for a response ASAP implies some urgency or impatience on your part. Which also pulls on the energy of those being asked.

Thanking you for your curiosity. I look forward to having a conversation with you as soon as I know what you think based on your ongoing research into Islam.

mimi

Dear Friends
kind regards
The religion of Islam has been under the spotlight since September 11th 2001.
In the Muslim nations some of the leaders blatantly use the religion in an evil way to keep people downtrodden.
I once talked to a gentleman who worked in Afghanistan and some of the things he told me about the place when it was under Islamic rule wasn't pleasent.
I have a few questions about Islam and I hope that you can answer them.
1. What is your knowledge and opinions on Mohammed the founder of Islam?
2. In your opinion is Islam a genuine religion?
3. Why do the leaders of Islamic nations impose such an inhuman dictatorship in the name of Islam?
4. Do you believe that Islam is being demonised in the West and why?
5. What is the future of Islamic nations?
I have done some research on Islam and came across a website that has lots of articles, information and opinions from the webmaster Osama Abdullah.
here is the link.
http://www.answering-christianity.com/ac.htm
If you could answer the questions and get back to me A.S.A.P I'd appreciate it.
yours thankfully
John
