The Marble

I'm losing it.
But I'll find it again in a few minutes,
or years, or the blink of a lifetime.
It's just around the corner:
A child's lost marble.

I'm losing it!
But soon I'll forget that I lost it,
And I'll have it, unknowingly.
You will, too.

I'm losing it.
I forgot it.
You were me and I was you;
I disagreed with myself, so
I disagreed with you.

But here it comes!
It's just around the sofa.
I can see it now.
But who is that stranger carrying it?

I don't know...
But it's here! It's found--

At last.
