Shades of Vietnam.
I wouldn't be surprised if some of these
gung-ho lifer officers and nco's get
'fragged' by an 'enemy' grenade.
But of course that doesn't stop the
war machine. Now that the US has
managed to alienate the entire world
(except for our corrupt cronies) we
can pretty much expect the same.
Why the hell did I ever volunteer to
play in the mud again this lifetime.
(rhetorical question)

As in many past mutinies, we seem to be moving toward a symbolic gesture of discipline.

One report says two of the 18 might be selected for punishment to satisfy appearances.

That's bizarre. It's a wonder that never ceases, the stange circumlocutions taken in this war by TPTB. It has me scratching my head, but no doubt they had, as you say, their reasons, and some of them must have to do with manipulations of timelines and events. That must get complicated for them, and take alot of negative "chaos magic."

There was a story in the last few days about some
US GI's refusing to go on a dangerous mission
in Iraq. Seems they were to deliver fuel in unarmored
vehicles. Their Commanding Officer was relieved of
duty. Isn't that curious? Maybe these women were
supposed to be sacrificial lambs and get blown up
with their fuel vehicles or maybe even kidnapped.
But their Commanding Officer listened to reason and
realized that he/she couldn't in good conscience
send them out there unarmored. Can't have soldiers
THINKING now can we? Can't have a Commanding
Officer who won't force soldiers to follow orders, can we?

I haven't been able to follow up on this story to see
what the final resolution was, but it's always interesting
if not maddening to see how TPTB put their own
spin on things.
