			<description><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://www.eff.org/news/archives/2004_10.php#001968">http://www.eff.org/news/archives/2004_10.php#001968</a></p><p>The EFF is going to court to fight an FCC rule requiring a &quot;broadcast flag&quot; on digital television signals.&nbsp; This is a digital marker that will prevent you from recording programs.</p><p>There was a similar case in the 80s (the Betamax decision) where the court held that people have a &quot;fair use&quot; right to record TV broadcasts using their VCR.&nbsp; &nbsp; Now that we&#039;re moving to all-digital modes of transmission, the same fights are happening again.</p>]]></description>
