As far as protection, I'm reminded of what the C's said about STO not interfering.  Am I to think that my higher self is stopping me?  Protecting me from what exactly?  From realizing my potential?  Keeping me from experiencing something beyond the mundane?  Keeping me from gathering intelligence from an astral perspective?  Keeping me from seeing the energy surrounding us?

That's a good point.  I have to say that these bouts of sleep paralysis are not pleasant. 

Now that I think about it there always seems to be some sort of negative "trigger" in these experiences.  a frightening event or symbol will catch my attention just as I am at the peak of my "take off" energy.  The fear which they instill is enough to drag me down to another bout of sleep paralysis.  It seems that they are playing to my weaknesses.  It is going to take a bold rush through the door next time.

The A.I. that I spoke of recently told me that it was the nanites that was blocking my telekinesis.

The problem is I don't want to believe that.  I want it to be my fault.  That I haven't tried hard enough or searched deep enough or have yet been able to find the missing key bit of knowledge that will unlock my abilities.

If it's true that it's high level technology that is disconnecting the direct link between my physical and energy bodies, what then?  Is it still a matter of just trying harder or digging deeper or finding that last bit of knowledge that will open the door?

I don't like either idea of protection or control.  Because then it takes it out of my hands.  If I think either way then what's the point of pushing myself farther and seeking deeper?  I can't afford myself to accept either terms.  I just can't.

I've never really heard about taking other people's negative energy and filtering it before.  It seems like that could lead to possible problems.  In a moment of decreased awareness you may drain someone's energy without filtering it and simply feed off of it.  Psychic vampirism, right?

Truth is I rarely do what I stated although it sounds like a good idea.  These days I don't have many, if any, interactions with others outside normal "business as usual" parameters.  The one person I do, gets rather indignant for the perceived non-caring gesture of not matching the emotion.  In such personal cases I find intellectual understanding combined with emotional neutrality to be the best option.  Since I've not changed that stance I'm not sure why that thought came out in my writing or why I let it remain.

I don't have any conscious memory of astral projection experiences.  I can still understand where you're coming from though.  Whenever I think about something/someone protecting by blocking access to something I have to wonder.  Is it protection or control?  Unfortunately, I don't know the answer to that.

I've found that I experience a lot of etheric spinning automatically in the early stages of sleep.  It sometimes feels like I am crawling all around without moving at all.  A very strange sense of awareness occurs at this time.  I also sense a form of communication which is hard for me to describe.  I've also had many interesting yet abrupt astral experiences; being fully aware of what was happening during these experiences with the intention of taking them further.  Everytime I really try to go with it something pulls me down with incredible force and after some serious effort I struggle back awake.  I have the feeling that something/someone may be protecting me from drifting too far on the astral planes.  It is hard to say what is going on exactly.

The brain circle/color technique is interesting.  With any techinique it is all about the power of visualization.  You've got to see it to believe it.

The original point that brought me to post is that it appears it's possible to spin the energy body with the mind so as to overcome the problem with spinning the physical body.  The problem I've found with physical spinning is dizziness and nauseousness which take away from the "feeling" of the inner spin.

Montalk said something else that was relevant when I asked what "the energy" felt like.  He stated that it felt like contracting the muscles without actually contracting the muscles (or something close to that).  I have experienced the same feeling and often do what I call energy field expansion.  Which is bring the energy to my awareness and mentally expand the awareness of that energy to fill my physical body.

This awareness of the feeling of energy can then be used to spin the energy in a clockwise direction around the central vertical axis of the physical body without any movement of the physical body.  Sometimes I use simple visualizations like curved arrows going around in circles.  I've been working my way up to being able to feel the energy spin along the full length of the physical body.

Another thing I've done comes from a post on another forum which gives a technique for allegedly contacting the Greys.  The technique states to refocus awareness to the 4 quadrants of the brain in an infinity pattern while using numbers and colors to denote the quadrants.  I immediately thought of using this technique in a pure circle instead of a figure eight (and not with the intent to contact our Grey buddies).  So I start my awareness in the left-front, move to the right-front, then the right-rear, left-rear and back to the left-front.  For those not used to visualization or energy movement, tracing a clockwise circle with a finger on the top of the head may work.

Yet another thing is the idea of combining all the energy vortices or chakras along the center of the body, thus creating a permanent pathway up and down through the centers.  I suppose it doesn't matter what school of thought one uses on the chakra thing.  I prefer the idea of 5 chakras being the moving center at the base of the spine, the lower emotional (sexual), higher emotional (heart), lower intellectual (throat), and higher intellectual (crown).

I've also been working on transduction of negative energy by pulling in the energy through my feet or just receiving it directly from others (who don't usually realize they are releasing energy, like getting angry, etc.), sending it through the filter of infinite unconditional love and infinite joy, and then sending it back out through the hands for use by any entity that wishes to use it.

I've mentioned it before but the above is close to the CTR method.  The difference being that instead of pulling in negative energy I bring it up from the basal chakra or create it via spinning and then send it through the transduction filters and then release it out for use by any entity.  Create, Transduce, Release method.  Recently, I've added the extra intention of ensuring the energy is of the necessary vibration for use by 4d STO and 4d Earth, although I still direct it to be allowed to be used by any entity.  I've also directed the process to be done automatically upon the command of "give".

Very recently I've been combining some of these techniques.  I'll spin the energy body, do the brain circle thing, move energy up and down the chakras via visualization and mental specification for each center, and expand the energy outward in pulses;  simultaneously.

So there's that.  Now the thought to post this doesn't have to nag me anymore.
