Beautiful post, smjor. This sort of experience reminded me of my own hiking experiences in the mountains here in Colorado which I do every weekend, in fact today. These weekend hikes keep me sane, and the stress of the week just melts away with every step. There is a particular trail in the foothills that I've hiked over 700 times and this trail never ceases to heal me and bring me back to myself, especially if I ask it to. In turn I treat this trail as a close friend and confidant - I know the area knows me and my struggles in life, and it always responds in a kind way, ways that are difficult to put into words, the timely rustle of the trees to my thoughts or a pleasant odor for my heart. I know she knows, and I am alone in that knowing except for her.

There is a series of books called "The Ringing Cedars of Russia" by Vladimir Megre, the sixth one I just finished reading a couple of weeks ago. You would love these books, and so would most people here at Noble Realms.
Stay on your course, it is definitely the proper direction. Nature will continue to communicate to you, all aspects of the natural world love to do that for those who have ears to hear and eyes to see, and a heart to feel.
May the trees teach, and the Great Spirit be revealed to you through His Creation.

I can imagine how you must have felt. I like the old Roman name, ' Earth '. Feelings like that occur when I'm in the Ocean, especially the Pacific. I lived in California for eighteen years. My body temperature is not right. When I went surfing near Pacifica and Santa Cruz, I would have to wear a wetsuit. At first, when the water gets in between my skin and the wetsuit, it would be a shock from the coldness, but then it appeared to modify my body temperature making me feel so damn pleasent that I really had little interest in surfing. I just wanted to sit there wishing I felt that way all the time without having to be in a cold ocean wearing a wetsuit. This doesn't fit with your message though, as it is more about my having some kind of internal temperature type of disorder or problem.

I've been in West Virginia now for some time, and right smack dab in the middle of the state. I had an experience once in winter, when I was on top of a mountain which had a light layer of snow covering it. I had this intense surge of vital force fill me and I was longing to jump out of the truck and feeling the absence of a sword, wanting the weight of it in my hand. Talk about your atavistic feelings coming up to the surface.

I've been seeing Stewart Wilde's name a lot in NR, is he a poet?

Ah Ay Eee Om Ewe.

What a beautiful experience! I too feel a special tree connection along with nature in general being kind of a church for me. I like to walk in the woods sometimes and every now and then it feels as if a plant is saying "hello" and "look at me!" and later when I read about its spiritual significance it is very relevant to what I was feeling while walking there. It sounds like you have some beautiful country to run through and that is such a gift with so much of the earth covered in urban sprawl. Have you thought about attempting to communicate with the trees?

As mentioned on another thread, Stuart Wilde recently published a new book called "The Art of Redemption". Being a fan of good ol' Stuie, I bought the book and started reading (It's top notch, as usual). Among other things, Stuart reminded me of something I haven't thought of for some time, namely the Memories of Trees.

I've been thinking and meditating a lot on the subject of how our thought and feelings affect the etheric qualities of all things around us. I'm sure most of you have heard about the ice-crystals that form images and forms based on the thoughts and feelings associated with labels put on those glasses of water, love gives beautiful snowflake-like crystals, hateful/dark thoughts like Hitler gives almost demonic looking crystals. I think our attitude toward things affect everything basically the same way.

I remember reading "The Alchymist", which is a most inspiring book, about the signs the universe places in front of you, as you're walking the path, and that you should heed them and pay attention to them. Now, I made some changes in my life recently, because I felt I should respect Gaia, and the nature of our symbiosis, and the path I'm walking. I felt it was beneficial to switch to a vegetarian diet, because I cry at the thought of how humankind is treating the animals. I see no reason to kill them for food anymore. I started excercising a little bit, to take better care of my 3D vessel, and now I usually run about 5 kilometer every morning. I follow a route through green fields, and cross little rivers, small pittoresque farms with horses kneighting happily, and cows resting contently on the fields. I feel connected to the planet when I run, and I'm awed by the might of 500 year old oak-trees, the persistence of the beautiful flowers in the morning rain, and the smell of fresh air.

Two days ago, I was running at sunrise, a magnificent morning of warm rays from the sun reflecting in the moist dew of the grass, and the drops from the shower the previous nights, still clinging to the branches of the trees, in yellow, red and orange as the autumn is waxing here in the North, and I thought about the Memories of Trees, that I was reminded of when reading Stuarts book. The air was still, I could hardly feel the breath of the wind. As I was approaching the final road leading up to the place where I live, I could hear the gentle speech of the wind as it played with the leaves of the trees at my left, and suddenly I was bathed in falling leaves of all colors of the earth, and I felt the trees saying "Hello!", and I stopped and sad "Nice to see you too!", and then all the trees on the other side did the same thing, and I just stood there in utter bewilderment and sent all my love to the trees and Gaia in gratefulness for Being.

I just felt like sharing it with you, and I'll let this be my introduction on this forum. I'm sure many of you have had similar experiences, and I think we should share those moments of magic amidst all the days we endure the sewage we have reeked on this planet.
