I didn't know about his mom and dad... The military, again.  His whole life sounds like some kind of experiment, doesn't it? Creepy, creepy. I don't know if it succeeded or failed, but I'd wager succeeded. What might the lives of all the people in his "Family" have been like if they hadn't collided with him?

Not only does Manson sound like Bush at times, right down to the cadence, tone and inflections of his voice, but if you can bear to look closely at him and the expression in his eyes, he even looks like him at certain moments. Shudder.

I saw that too, but thought I  might be reading too much into it (just because of the voice thing).  It's hard to tell exactly what the man looks like because of the shaggy mane and beard, but there is something vaguely Bush-esque about him. 

Did you know that his father was a Colonel who had a brief tryst with his mother-- and then disappeared?  The  Manson name came from a stepfather his mother married when he was small.  Now, why would a "high-ranking" military man have a tryst with someone who was apparently quite low in status?  Back then, she would have been the equivalent of trailer park trash.

It's interesting that you were perceptive enough to feel something was wrong with that story, even as young as you were.  You were ahead of most of the adults watching that same news coverage. 

I went on to watch a 1973 documentary that showed interviews with the Family (which was, incidentally, banned in several countries upon its release).  It's just so obvious that he was part of something much larger.  I wonder if the experiment "failed," or if it achieved its objective?

I agree with you, Lono. I was a kid when the Tate murders happened, and I remember being transfixed with my parents by all the news coverage of it. I felt very deeply, even at about ten years old, that he and his followers had been "put up" to it by something very big and very nasty. And maybe the CIA is just the tip of the iceberg, so to speak.

You're right that it came and went.  But while it was there, it was creepy.

I'm watching the A&E Biography of him on Youtube now, and there's some strange stuff there.  In addition to the obligatory heavy-LSD sessions (where he was the focus the entire time), he would do these exercises with the "Family" where he would randomly stop them during the day and have them mirror his movements.  Now, where did he learn that?  In prison?  I doubt it.  Why can't people see that the CIA's fingerprints were all over this?

Close your eyes, listen to the voice, and the first person who "gets it" gets a gold star.  The voice, cadence, pronunciation, and even the tone of righteous indignation is identical to a certain someone.  The question is, is that just a coincidence?
