(kids are getting out of school, going to parks and beaches)
It's great placement the media does it all the time... recently I saw a mag that some female star was getting over bulemia but the real head line was NEW HOLLYWOOD DIET LOSE 20LBS IN TWO MONTHS!

I'm so glad you started this thread, Lono. I was thinking the same thing! I've been reading these stories and getting more and more freaked out. My birthday is on the 26th of August, and if I'm correct, it's the day that the very first roller coaster was set into motion. So naturally, my bf is planning a group outing to Six Flags. I've never even BEEN on a roller coaster before, due to an extreme fear of heights, so all of my friends are looking forward to watching me scream. Aside from my own morbid curiosity, I still think it's a bad idea to hang out in an amusement park at all, what with all the freak accidents/tragedies. And adding in the fact that my birthday is a significant day for roller coasters, I think I may be asking for trouble.

I'm trying to petition for renting out a roller skating rink and having a disco skate party instead.

Update for Lono:

NEW YORK (AP) -- An amusement park worker was thrown off a gyrating ride and killed, and park officials acknowledged Saturday that a safety precaution put in place after a fatal accident on the ride in 2004 wasn't followed.

Gabriela Garin, 21, of White Plains, New York, was killed Friday night after fastening some late-arriving riders into their seats on the Mind Scrambler, the same ride where a 7-year-old girl was killed three years ago at the landmark Playland Amusement Park in Rye. The ride was immediately shut down for the rest of the summer.

It was the fourth fatality at the park in just over three years.

Garin was operating the ride, a spider-arm-style attraction that spins riders around in two-seat cars, park spokesman Peter Tartaglia said. She had changed shifts with a new ride operator but stayed to take on a few new passengers before leaving for the night, he said.

The woman told the operator she would fasten the last riders into the car, and the new operator, whose name wasn't immediately available, stepped into a booth and started the ride, Tartaglia said.

He looked up, noticed Garin still on the ride and shut it down 15 to 20 seconds after it began, Tartaglia said. But Garin, who started working at the park when she was 14, already had been thrown from it, he said.

Garin was "a very conscientious worker," Tartaglia said.

Emergency workers responded quickly, "but there wasn't very much anybody could do for her," Westchester County Police spokesman Kieran O'Leary said. Garin was pronounced dead at the scene around 9:30 p.m., he said.

The attraction, in a darkened tent with flashing lights, was the scene of another deadly accident May 22, 2004. Stephanie Dieudonne, 7, wriggled free of the restraining bar on one of the cars, knelt on the seat and fell soon after the ride started, according to investigators.

The amusement park was not cited for any violations or required to make improvements to the ride after the girl's death, but officials announced plans to add seat belts, more lighting and a second attendant.

In 2005, a 7-year-old boy was killed when he climbed out of his boat ride and fell, investigators said. A 43-year-old man drowned after wading into a lake on July 4, 2006, at the county-owned Playland, a National Historic Landmark that opened in 1928.

Playland is on Long Island Sound, about 25 miles north of midtown Manhattan. Featuring more than 50 rides, a pool and a beach, it draws more than 1 million visitors a year.

http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/06/30/amusem … index.html

From Mary Summer Rain's book, "Phoenix Rising," written in 1984-85, is the prophetic chronology of events grouped into different sections for the things that are going to be happening right now. Each section is given a metaphorical title according to the stages of the phoenix's birth from the mother planet. Contractions, Emerging, Eyes Searching, Listening, Breath Heaving, Wings Flexing, The Wailing, Talons Tensing, Crouching, Flying Free. However the sections/stages, with their various events, are not necessarily in exact chronological order. Meaning, some things later in the list may happen before stuff at the beginning of the list, and vice versa, as the future is not set in stone and things do change around. But when I went through the list I noticed that probably 3/4 of the things mentioned have indeed come to pass.

____

From page 162 of "Phoenix Rising"

The Phoenix Chronicles

Listening/Freak Deaths & Accidents

Amusement park disasters
Increase in homicide/suicide
Freak household accidents
Disease outbreaks
Several catastrophic propane explosions
Germ Warfare release accident

____

This particular section might also tie in with the other thread that's currently going about guys flipping out and killing their families. And another section, called "Eyes Searching/Transportation Accidents" ties into a thread I started about 2 years ago about the rise of train accidents/derailments. The "Eyes Searching" section says: Plane crashes increase, Shipping disasters increase, Higher incidents of train derailments/accidents.

No-Eyes took Mary on an out of body journey and showed her various events to come, and one of them was witnessing catastrophe at an amusement park, an example of what would be one of many. Another involved this delivery guy who looked happy and normal on the surface, entering into a home, whistling, only to leave behind a dead family. And then another woman who killed herself and her kids. Examples of this sort of either sociopathic and/or mentally ill behavior being on the rise during these times.

The explanation given for why the increase in accidents and murders and mayhem was that "The Watchers" were pulling back in their protection of us. No-Eyes explained that were it not for The Watchers and their constant intervention in human affairs there would have been tons more mishaps, accidents, maimings and deaths throughout modern times. But that basically something has changed in their attitude, and they're pulling back, and want people to start using their intuition and internal guidance to be more alert and in tune and aware.....basically, start helping ourselves instead of being babies that always need intervention because we race through life, completely cut off from the planet, everybody around us, and our selves, focused on things that don't matter.
