SeventhSoujorn try and find the song Days Ahead by KRS One off of his album Spiritual Minded. Good oldschool rapper with a good message. That whole album is a gem. He talks about Christ Consciousness, the World Bank - this guy knows his stuff and makes you feel good about knowing it. If you like good bluesyrockin' playing you might like the Black Keys. Try "Busted" or "No Trust". There's tons of great stuff out there we just gotta find it and start playing it! I'm thinking that the end of the war on piracy and fall of the record labels will usher in a new era of great bands and really change the music scene in a good way. New meets old to find that perfect balance and evolution found in the middle.

For everyone, I really recommend this album "Satori" (enlightenment) by the Flower Travellin' Band from Japan. They're like an eastern Led Zeppelin. I'm also diggin' Hound Dog Taylor. It's so hard to find a band worth listening to nowadays... you sure can't find it on the radio. (besides those late night shows with eclectic DJs)

A while back I was using my treadmill regularly, and I would normally listen to melodic, high energy music, mostly 70's era rock. One day I was in the mood for grungier stuff, like War Pigs, Soundgarden, things like that, I can't remember exactly, but I kept finding myself short of breath! I had to switch back to my regular music, and then I was fine. I guess the music changed how my body utilized oxygen!

I like all types of music, even the "darker" types, but I think it's good for people to understand music has a HUGE influence on our state of being. I think the music effects us way more than the lyrics, though they are important too.

But I have to say that I have yet to hear any rap music (not lyrics) of a quality that would raise, rather than lower my energetic state. I'm not saying it's not there, I just haven't heard it. To me, it's like the music industry is saying "How unmelodic can we make this"? IMO, samples don't count.

I believe you though that it's out there, and this is why: I thought for years that guitar playing was becoming a lost art. In new pop and rock music it is very rare to hear a guitar lead. If you do it's not difficult to play. I go to concerts to see 70's acts and the opening bands, if they get radio play, they usually do not play well compared to their "along in age" counterparts. Then I went to Nashville and saw some country and rock acts. The talent blew me away, and I mean people playing 1 hour gigs with no cover! I'm like "why aren't the talented people making it?" Now, I don't know a lot about mainstream country, but it really makes me wonder -- I've never been to LA, but if you go there is there is there club after club of knock-you-on-your-butt talent that the record companies to see fit to support? It's too bad because I think a good guitar lead can really raise consciousness, for example Jimmy Page in Ten Years After.

Here's more on music: http://www.realitysandwich.com/music_quantum_lattice

Music of the Quantum Lattice

In the field of high-energy physics, a rapidly rising theory called "Lattice Quantum Chromodynamics" (Lattice QCD) proposes that an invisible, all-pervasive structure exists beneath atomic structure. As a long overdue replacement for the vacuous space-time continuum, we are now poised for a return to the ancient worldview of a musical universe described by Pythagorean harmonic science.

......

When we listen to music, we can hear the polyhedrons of mineral crystals and the cardioids of life in the interference patterns of harmonics. Since our brains also grew inside this resonating lattice, we instantly recognize complex harmonic proportions in melodies and chords. And as music moves through this lattice, we instinctively follow and anticipate the directional flow of energy in each combination of tones with absolutely no effort at all. From simple auditory shapes to vast landscapes and structures, music projects our dreams through the neural lattice of our brain while quantum energy projects our reality through the Lattice QCD. How could it be otherwise?

In the final analysis, Lattice QCD theory is really just the long awaited sequel to the Pythagorean Music of the Spheres that describes everything - atoms, plants, animals and planetary orbits - as a musical harmony. This has always been (and always will be) the easiest way to grasp the form, function and beauty of the quantum space lattice. With the advent of Lattice QCD, it is only a matter of time before science and society will once again agree to see nature as a kind of crystallized music. When it does, the world will become a very different place.

I can take this literally. I have always "felt" immediately where a music piece flows and takes my consciousness to. So, I stick to 70's progressive & symphonic rock which can ascend you, not descend or stick to some dark energies/feelings.

The outsiders (called Wanderers by Ra and the Renegade Family of Light by the Pleiadians) have chosen to incarnate on Earth in great numbers at this time so as to break the stranglehold of negativity that claims dominion over this sector of reality.

Thought, awareness, vibration, sound, and light impact (form, mold) the physical properties of material creation. It is no accident that dark energies promote "music" with either guttural sounds that awaken primitive, lizard-brain feelings or shrieking atonal sounds and rhythms that distress the body complex and assault the higher mind. The dark controllers understand the importance of jamming circuitry within the mind/body complex and drawing consciousness away from the natural evolutionary spiral that is at work at this time.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out the dark have met some powerful opposition in their plans for world domination. The sheer preposterous desperation of tactics used to "control" reality and undermine individual efforts to break free demonstrate there is more than one force at work, with the opposing force at least as powerful as the "dominant" negative force working so feverishly to enslave all aspects of material creation.
