Well, you did say it as hard to put into words.

If a perpetual experience of truth by self is a questionable state I would like to question it.

Sorry to disappoint but I thought that was what I described to start with. And it is rather peacful to be sure, and matches fairly closely what I have read so far about 'enlightnement' but really left me wondering why anybody would really dedicate their life to reaching a rather questionable state, which apparently a lot of 'mystics' try to do.
Food for thought anyway. Learning about new things is always a useful endeavor.

Well actually I can't claim any 'feelings' while it was happeneing, there being no 'me' to feel them. After it was over I had a great sense of peace and calm, which I must admit I have retained to some extent (thats a good part).
But frankly the whole snapping in and out is annoying and I am not all that pleased with spending periods where the world is 'unreal'.
I did find a 'teacher' of sorts. I am told that the inability to experience much while I am there is mostly a lack of knowing how to handle it ... that I need more practice in the drivers seat. I am still thinking that idea over.

I may have mis-interpreted.
As you said it was a peacefull one but also express the desire for it to go away,
it is somehing that I hardly am able to comprehend or put a finger on.
Why would you want the feeling of peace and a different, perhaps more real perception
of this existence to go away?
Love in the ordinary human sense may be dampened.
This is why we strive to open the valves that allows us to experience love
in the true sense of the meaning.
While you were in this state, did you experience any feelings in the positive vain, ie compassion,
sympathy,appreciation even love?
I know my feelings felt more or less as they always do but my sense of being seemed to be altered,
or my perception of how I normally view this "reality".
This "reality" appeared very fragile, not in a "I'm going crazy" kind of way,
more in a "This is how it really is" kind of way.
Was this how it felt for you?
It's hard to explain what a thing is without knowing what it is,
were it came from, if it was real or manufactured, what is its purpose, etc.
If it feels good, if it helps you, if it moves you closer to a pure source or truth,
I would not be too worried about it.
Feelings of pure joy, that came into my live recently, was met by self-questioning.
Who's doing this and why? What is this? What is the truth?
These questions were answered in time, in short order.
This expereince may be a stepping stone for you, to "higher" things.
Ask yourself the questions and listen for the answers.

Since the episodes are getting shorter and less frequent hopefully if will just go away.

For those of you that have experienced this there is a thing I would like to hear some opinions on. If one is permanetly in this state do you think they would be capable of love in the ordinary human sense?

Thanks for sharing and good suggestions thus far.

I have had quite an ^^^interesting^^^ year also...if You read some of my posts here.

I benefited tremendously by going to a healing therapist for a simple half hour session...it was amazingly enlightening and joyously peaceful too. It connected me even stronger to what had gone on. This therapy session kind of "just happened" after I had some intense dreams and "otherside" connections in January : ) I had never gone to a therapist---healing or otherwise---before in my life and I am fifty years old. The session was $60.00 and I was there for about an hour. Debbie(the therapist) was unbelievably clairvoyant and telepathic and loving...she was somehow connected to everything that had gone on with me prior to meeting Her. Probably the best bit of advice I have found is that if they are charging something then they are probably not a 'real' teacher. Looking inside is of course the best advice but when it hits you can't, there are no questions then. A most perplexing paradox.
Although Buddism and Zen are 'religious' my only reason for looking there is that there seems to be more knowledge on the subject to be found. I don't myself see this as a 'religious' experience. I am certainly open to any other suggestions.

The entire day?
Your lucky, mine only lasted a half hour or so.
Recently I woke feeling the same way.
As if I was watching myself from somewhere else, perhaps in but not of the body.
The feeling of the world being an illusion was very strong.
Other "things" have occured before this episode but this was a pleasant experience.
It appears this may be part of your "awakening process".
I would continue to look inside yourself for the answers, althought
that does not mean to rule out outside help from other sources.
I found the best help to be here ,at David Ickes site or from those those
sources who do not include religious connotation's or overtones.
I would recommend a carefull approach when attempting
to obtaining such explainantions that you are attempting to, from any religious or quasi-religious source.
I understand what you mean by obtaining information from these sources.
The best source though, is within.
During this time, you will be lead to that which will inform you more and lead you to truth.
How awakenings come about I have no idea, why,..perhaps it is just that time, other positive
forces at work, our spiritual selves having enough, contracts outside of this world or all of the above and more.
There are a plethera of links to ebooks etc, littered all over this and David Ickes site.
Much of this material I have ingested with a pince of cynical salt and do not subscribe
to all I read or hear but am convinced in large part of the overall assumptions.
It is up to the individual, who is in the midst of his/her awakening to follow the path
as they see it, that will lead them to the truth.
Remember, there are many who subscribe to the idea (myself included) that all world religions are tools
used by other forces to enslave us and reinforce the blanket illusion under which we are kept.
It goes so far as to suggest that the Christ entity was a genetically engineered,artifically inseminated being,
who was taught the ways of the "Brotherhood" and once realised who and what he was, rebelled.
It goes this far, that's how deep the hole for us has been dug.
I like taking a deep breath, a step back and looking at the BiG picture now and then,
it gives me a sense of perspective that I enjoy.
We are not a civilization under the mantle of God but rather a souled civilization under the apron of oppression.
Not that I enjoy being oppressed but rather enjoy being able to look through the deception,
make plans for the oppression and how to overcome it and move into what, I dunno, a better world perhaps?
Do not take what I say here or what anyone else says as affirmations of how things are but rather discover this for yourself.
Allow the information to sink in and let yourself be enlightened by you or influences of pure light.
Inside you will know what you need to do.

Alright I will try to describe it, but understand that words fail for the most part.

I woke up one morning and 'I' wasn't there. An feeling of watching a body that I knew somehow should be mine but not actually being. It was wierd but extreamly peaceful. Now the wierdest part is that I couldn't even put together these thoughts and minimal understanding of it until it was over. I didn't exactly understand or know at the time. It lasted the entire day. The next morning when I woke I was back to normal and then I could remember it and start to wonder what had happened.
I started doing all sorts of net searches - it lead to a lot of stuff about 'awakening', best I can figure at the moment is that Buddist and Zen types have more understanding of it, in fact search for it although for the moment I am not sure why one would really want it.
I am still having 'episodes', but they are short, usually snapping back to experience a mild headache.
(no I haven't taken any drugs etc etc)

If you don't mind, I would very much like to hear a summary of your "experiences" and why you have been lead to believe a Buddist or Zen teacher can help and some of the questions you have.
I probably cannot answer these but many here might be capable.

hmm I had an 'experience' (one big one and some continuing bits) that I am trying to understand. I started off knowing nothing about anything, have done a lot of reading but I have questions I can't seem to find much help with and what I have learned so far seems to indicate thats the right place to go for answers (or at least guidance).
