Alternative Hand Position for Prayer/Meditation

I happenstanced upon this prayer hand position last weekend during meditation, a meditation while listening to Buddhist chants no less.

This is how the hands are positioned together--

~Touch index finger and thumb together just like one does in the lotus position when meditating.
~Bring the two fingers/thumbs together, touching each other point to point. You will see this creates an Infinity sign.
~Touch together the tips of the rest of your fingers, and pull the pinkies towards you just a tad so that they align underneath the middle fingers. You will see this creates a pyramid.
~And not only that, the two middle fingers together, if the elbows are pointed out a bit, extend into the arms creating an even larger pyramid that to me kind of feels like it goes deeper into the earth, the whole earth becoming the base.

Any thoughts from anybody about this? If anybody is so inclined to try this out may you please share what ever impressions you sense?
