Perhaps even more important is the ratio between saturate and poly UNsaturated fats. Most of America would benefit from lot's of extra Omega 3's. The biggest risk (which is low) is bleeding strokes.

There are some people who advocate 10-15 grams a day for certain conditions and ages regardless.

I have been taking various versions of the greens + supplements for the last year or so and I've really enjoyed them and found they are a well rounded supplement. Lately though, I have moved away from the powdered greens and I am making shakes in the morning with fresh greens and berries and all that other good stuff (millet, goji berries etc). For some reason, I am craving the fresh greens much more now than the powdered greens but I still think that it is a great product.

Greens powder is a good alternative if you cannot get a hold of spirulina. And actually, because it has other ingredients, it's a more balanced supplement. The reason I like spirulina is that it's a more concentrated and economical form of green-ness, its potency coming with the downside of lacking a few things that other green substances (like alfalfa powder, chlorella) have. So the Greens+ has the advantage of being nutritionally more balanced, with the downside of not being as potent due to apple fiber, soy lecithin, and brown rice bran comprising half the bulk. Also, some people are not into soy, which this has. Still, I think it's better than not taking anything. And good idea with the milled flax seed... regular unmilled cannot be digested really, so ground or milled is better. Too many omega-3s is bad, but you'd have to take several tablespoons of pure omega-3 oil to reach that level... so it wouldn't be overkill at all to put flax seed into yogurt.

Does anyone have any general feedback they’d care to provide about this product?

Greens+ and Greens+ (Genuine Health)

Lately I've been trying to find a local supplier who carries Spirulina but I haven't had much luck. So yesterday I was passing some time at the pharmacy and finally decided to check out the ingredients on this since I’ve seen it around all over the place and never bothered to read them before. Impressive list! I ended up buying the store brand because it had Silica as an added ingredient (nice little bonus ) plus it was less expensive. I plan on introducing it into my diet starting tomorrow and I’m thinking of getting the kids started on it, too. And I bought the powder instead of the capsules because I heard that it’s absorbed into the bloodstream quicker that way instead having to pass through the digestive tract first. Is that true?

Also, for the past little while I’ve been mixing milled flax seed into my morning yogurt. It’s really yummy! Should I keep doing that while taking the greens+ or would that be overkill?
