As for the news... well, that's just fear-mongering in its purest form. When I ask my dad why he feels he has to watch the news, he says it's because he "needs to know what's going on in the world". Everyone says that, but they can't explain it any further. Why do you need to hear all this depressing, probably politically-biased news if it's of no consequence to your everyday life whatsoever, and only serves to bring you down?
]]>I'm currently downloading Northern Exposure, and it's great because of the effort and length of time it takes, it means that I only bother downloading good shows, instead of just switching on the TV and veging out.
Did someone say Northern Exposure?! That has got to be one of THE best shows ever produced in the history of television! There’s nothing like a little “Chris in the Morning” IMHO, of course.

]]>Is this a sign of an awakening when some are turning off a big reality programmer like television? I hope so.
Would be nice, but I think its just a matter of Nielsen not counting the people who have DVR's properly. This is the first year they've tried to add them and they do not count a show as watched unless it's watched within 24 hours.
