It's an animated feature length film done back in the early 70's; French with English subtitles.  I just got it on DVD.  Extremely disturbing and thought provoking!

ehhnus, Coupling is definitely worth checking out!  But make sure you watch the episodes in the right order.

Little Britain is another brilliant British classic with 2 blokes playing all the parts.  My husband now annoyingly goes around mimicking them with: "eeh, eeeh, eeeeeh" and "yeah-but, no-but", and "bittey", and "I'm a ladeeeeey"  - which you will understand if you watch it.  Gross and very very funny!!!

A tame but fairly well put together sci-fi series I'm enjoying at the moment is Battlestar Galactica - anyone else seen that?

And did anyone see the sci-fi series Farscape?  I loved that but it got axed after a two or three series.  Don't know why though.

I also liked Sliding Doors. Great concept and well put together.

Red Dwarf!!!!!!!

I'm sure there's others but I can't think of them right now... may get back to you!

Fight Club   One of my favorite movies EVER if u haven't seen it go rent it

Clockwork Orange  An oldie but goodie Stanley Kubrick film about anarchy and mind control

And the list goes on... :) However, I haven't seen Brazil yet, but by what you guys have said about it I think I should.

hey ya Brazil --

I like the scene where they're sitting in the restaurant and a terror attack happens in the same room then the waitor brings a wall partition so they can't see the terrorism. The lady says, "son, why don't you do something about these terrorists?" He says something like 'it's my lunch period' . . .

It was his lunch hour AND it "wasn't his department, besides."       That scene was SO British, bringing in the partition to block out what was happening so they can go about their lunch, pretending it's not happening.   Oh yeah...and you had to love their lunch.   Piles of green glop, with a picture card mounted on the plate showing what the food is *supposed* to be.   I mean, if the picture says it's this, then it must be this, despite what my eyes are telling me!      Great metaphor for many bigger issues, eh?   There are so many metaphors in this movie, and direct prophesies.

2. Brazil (Terry Gilliam). Robert De Niro's best role as the renegade plumber swinging in on his Bat-Rope. Too many great qualities to mention.

I had to comment on this because I finally got a chance to see "Brazil" last night for the first time.   All I can say is "WOW!!!"

SEE this movie, everybody.   If nothing else, watch it for the amazing prophetic forshadowing of things to come.    How did Terry Gilliam know???    This movie is like a cross between "1984", "Naked Lunch" (minus the bugs!) and "Time Bandits" (gilliam's other major film)   But take a close look at the posters on the walls in the background througout the movie --  Stuff like "Don't suspect a friend.....report him!"    and loads of other stuff pertaining to "terror prevention" and living in fear and paranoia.    The funniest was a poster for a fear-free resort, where you can relax without paranoia.  Woven amongst the plot is this whole thing regarding "terrorism" and the lead character who works for the "Ministry of Information."    People can be arrested, detained and killed with no reason and no explanation, the law is never held accountable for anything, including their mistakes, "terrorism" acts happen all the time and serves to fuel the way the society runs.   There's just so much happening with this movie, I love it, and it's got the trademark British / Monty Python humor all over the place.   This is one worth owning.   I'll be hunting it down on DVD, that's for sure.   If you've read and enjoyed Orwell's "1984", and thought "Time Bandits" was a kick as film from your childhood (or hell, even your adulthood!)  then you'll like "Brazil."
