All of your advice sounds great! I bought some pH strips about a week and a half ago and have been testing my pH regularly. My pH starts out low when I test it directly after waking up, (5.5 - 6.0) but then when I take an apple cider vinegar shot, drink a lot of water, eat a carrot, and eat a grapefruit, it shoots up to the 7 - 7.5. I've noticed that by keeping my pH up my face feels better and it doesn't produce as much oil.

My diet right now consists mainly of fried rice (brown jasmine rice, eggs, carrots, onions, garlic, olive oil (no butter,) soy sauce, salt, and pepper,) oatmeal with organic peanut butter, 2-3 grapefruits a day, 3-4 whole carrots a day, and some sort of vegetable for dinner along with a piece of meat (usually chicken, fish, but sometimes steak.) I also have been taking 3-4 shots of apple cider vinegar a day (I haven't tried putting it on my face, I'll try that out.)

I was eating a lot more citrus like 5 days ago, but I ran out of lemons... But during that period is when my face felt the best and was producing less oil.

I read today from "The Potassium Conspiracy" thread that potassium is very important for a pH balancing diet. So I still need to get some of that potassium salt...

Man I love this forum... There is so much information about everything... Anyways, I think I need to step up my vegetable and fruit consumption while sticking with the apple cider vinegar shots, cayenne pepper, molasses, while applying the lemon juice to my face and possibly even the apple cider vinegar. I'm having trouble finding blackstrap molasses. I have first molasses (Grandma's Robust.) I hope the sugar content isn't too bad...

It'll be nice when I get a close to set diet, with some room for new additions...

The ultimate, by far for acne is the ocean. If you are close enough to the ocean that you could go there once a week and spend 30-45 minutes in the salt water, your acne will disappear. I used to have problems with acne too, and every time I went body-surfing for a couple hours, my acne was noticeably better a couple hours later, and completely gone the next day, or at least healing fast.

(I also have a friend who swears by apple cider vinegar. Just put some on a cotton ball and hold it on the affected area until the skin at the tip begins to turn white.

Kahnsentrayshun, do you smoke cigarettes? I noticed my face broke out once I started smoking and plan on quitting soon. I know products that have tea tree oil and/or green tea work great..for me atleast with the acne and the skin in general.

EDIT:

These products are great for the skin:

Try to find a castile soap that has tree tea oil.Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap is great, but if you find another brand, then that would also do.

Aubrey's Green Tea Moisturizer also is great. It makes your skin smooth and crisp. The price is a bit steep, but it lasts a while, since you only need a very small amount and it smells good too.

Like the others said, diet plays a role. Newstarget is a great health website that you can look at. It talks about acne and other things about health. I hope this helps!
