sorry to hear that she has passed on. but who knows, maybe she's yet returned, maybe as a cat and is living happily with another family.

this is our little penelope...she's a little over a year old.
i have never had a furry pet before. i cannot begin to explain how much more fun and rich my life has become since this little darling beast has come along. my wife is a little annoyed that she seems to be more affectionate to me than her, seeing as she fancies her self as a cat person having had cats since she was young. i just spend more time with her, that's all it is; especially when we first got her, i was home with her all day.

she's so sweet and dainty. she's our little girl. and especially since nikki's miscarriage, she has been even more welcome. i could not have imagined coming home from the hospital to an empty apartment.

((((Sowelu)))) sorry to hear of Sophie's passing as I looked through the thread I saw her picture and thought yes, that is a cat like dog! I too believe they stay with us and that connection is beyond time. Lilmomma, thank you too for that beautiful poem reminded me of an old furred friend.

Oh no...oh Sowelu, I'm so sorry for your loss. I know nothing but time and tears can ease your heartache but I hope this helps at least a little.

You know, Bratt Dog visits me in my dreams from time to time. It took a little while for him to come at first but every now and again he stops by and it's so very good to see him. I'm sure when Sophie's ready she'll come and see you, too. (((hugs)))

(((((Thank you, Falvion))))) I know... it's so hard. I'm glad Ginger had a long life with you, but it's always so tough when they leave. I keep finding myself expecting to see Soph when I go downstairs, and I've caught myself waiting for her to follow me out the door when I go out back for a smoke... *sigh*

Aw, there's a bevy of beauties on here! This is our brood...

Our youngest, Chip (aka Bigboy aka Chipperdoo...needy, greedy, short-changed in the brains department, basically a big galoot )

Our oldest, Emma (aka Emmazem aka Emmabobemma aka Mrs. Ducks aka PudgyMunky aka Babbygirl aka Babbeez...sweeter than candy)

Little Cat (doesn't play well with others of the feline variety)

Munchkin (gone to a new home)

Hyde (used to live with Zeke but that didn't work out, also doesn't play well with others of the aquatic variety)

And Bratt, My Very Good Dog, my darling, my best friend, my loyal protector (played well with most everyone, especially little ones, but not drunks or those of questionable character, smarter than most people I've met, incredible crooner, particular in his musical tastes, often purred...my heart still aches for you, My Bobbins)

A pic of our adopted cat who i call Catius and lives in our garden, its impossible to even walk in the garden without Catius rubbing herself against your legs so you can't move anywhere without stepping on her, a real fusspuss

Hahaha! Wellll... no. She's pretty good about not slapping too much, it's like she's aware how big and strong she is (75 lbs, part Chow Chow). And her coat always seems to be shiny like that, somehow. Shines blue, with or without a bath.

Though you know that thing kitties do with their paws when you pet their bellies? Sophie does that too. And she's great at suddenly becoming aloof if you don't do or say what she wants. And once she's outside, she pretends she doesn't know her name and can't hear you... until she decides you're useful to her in some way. LOL! And she would never... ever... seek to please you. You live to please her, 'nuf said. One of her other many, many names is "Demando Girl". *heehee*

We got her from a rescue shelter when she was 3. She'd been neglected and abandoned a number of times and they said she was dangerous and difficult to place. But we never had trouble with her! I think she was just waiting for us. We're a perfect fit.
