Soloflecks: I agree that the three main street magicians do seem to do the same tricks. I don't really know if it supports the idea that they are performing tricks or reality manipulation. Whether it is a trick or not, if one magician sees another one do a trick I think they figure that they can do it too, and figure out how its done. Like if you saw some who bought something for half price somewhere and you thought hey I want to get that for half price too, and went and found where the sale was.

One thing that's occurred to me in the meantime is that several of these notable illusionists do some of the same tricks or variations of the same tricks. Does that make it more or less likely that they are tricks and not actual reality-manipulation or whatever?

How could that have possibly been faked? I honestly can't see "modern technology" supporting this illusion, it's too complicated.

It probably is easier to just manipulate reality

Maybe, this could be a high-tech Digital re-creation or something along those lines, without any actual "magic tricks".

Cool find though

Over recent years there seems to have been a noticeable increase in the numbers of people who can perform such unbelievable 'tricks', or at least those who are able to display their abilities on mainstream T.V or the internet. Many times I've discussed with friends the possibility that some of what we've seen is actually supernatural as oppposed to just an incredible act of illusion.

The suggestion has been made by some, that maybe there are presently high numbers of dark supernatural entities which are supplying these powers to individuals who have, for whatever reason, managed to connect with them; although I'm no expert on such matters and I'm only speculating. Referring back to qigong, there are warnings in some systems concerning wrong-minded practitioners who seek such powers in order to achieve fame & gain, only to be supplied with them albeit at the expense of unknowingly exchanging some of their own 'natural' powers such as vital/soul essence, which can then be used by a negative entity. No such thing as a free lunch.

Of course that's not to be confused with righteous cultivators who have opened up such powers as a result of diligent progress and without the object of personal/material gain in mind.

I recall seeing one T.V performance by a famous U.K illusionist/mind manipulation expert, who, upon completing an impressive trick and then clearly thinking he was off camera, was asked by his celebrity assistant how he did it and he replied 'I honestly have no idea'. Maybe it was a deliberately dismissive answer or it could have been that he really didn't know, in which case who or what gave him the ability to do the trick?

Capitan, what you say reminds me of the Arizona Wilder interview by David Icke where she talks about all the mind control experiments done through out recent times. One in particular I believe is when people were put in one of their alters and they cut themselves they would not bleed. So if that is true than this all really is a long tradition of conditioning that may even begin before birth if we can never escape the material universe we are always obeying it even when we don't have bodies.

I happen to be one of those that believe that these modern "illusionists" may be showing us that in fact the illusion is that we can't put our hand through solid objects, or read minds, or alter reality with a thought. All very dangerous concepts indeed to TPTB power structure. My main question is that if in fact these illusions, are not illusions at all, why would TPTB allow people like Cyril to perform these tricks? The answer may be simple, as every person to whom I suggest the notion that maybe these "illusionists" are not performing any illusions at all, they are simply making us aware of the real illusion, the response +90% of the time is mocking skepticism. Not only am I rebuked but criticized for my non-conformist idea. Perhaps the minds of the masses are so deeply entwined with the rejection of all that doesn't fit what they were taught in school, that no amount of insight will free the mind that is not seeking freedom.

Even on Noble realms I made the suggestion that "illusionists" may be exposing the true illusion, and the suggestion was met with consternation, but also a little agreement.

Yes it looks pretty convincing. In fact I'm not altogether sure it is an illusion as such. The ability to alter physical configurations and structures is said to be possessed by high level practitioners of certain disciplines such as qigong, so maybe the guy really does have some supernormal ability or is being 'fed' energy/ability from an external source. There again, perhaps I've just fallen for it hook, line and sinker
