Bah! Humbug to the commercialism, but here in the UK, its is dark when you go to work/school and dark when you come back. The xmas lights may be tacky, but they brighten up the darkness. And people are friendlier too. Peace on Earth is the eternal xmas message.
Lets not get too cynical about Christmas. You can meditate on the Nativity scene in terms of Cosmic Christ consiencousness too.
]]>I know the idea of consumerism and religion and all that is considered backward among many here, particularly at this time of the year, but I briefly came across this on the web and thought I'd post it. Perhaps an idea or view that is truer to the original intentions and purpose of Christ.
Consider Christ Consciousness . . . It is a Cosmic phenomena to which all may attain, regardless of their religious beliefs, or whether they are aware of Christ's teachings.
Christ Consciousness is a level of attainment or power, not limited to one group. It is the manifestation of the unfoldment of the soul personality. It is profound spiritual perception and illumination.
It is Cosmic Consciousness, union with the Cosmic Mind, or Universal Consciousness.
We are individual in expression, not in essence. In essence we are part of a Universal Consciousness.
The highest state within man is a realization of this One-ness.
Some mystics who have been illumed have felt that a Cosmic Power has entered into them. In actuality, they have ascended to a new awareness level.
The objective state is consciousness of the world. This state is limiting, and limited by frail, deficient senses. Consciousness of Self tells us that I am that I am. Then there is a vast state of consciousness, and awareness of one's union with all reality.
This, then, is having awareness of the Touch of Divinity.
