Cheers. We have been gettings Tom's toothpaste from Holland and Barretts previously; it's just that they don't stock the childrens toothpaste. But I think we will do the same as you did, just use a small quantity.

The other brand you linked to may also me worth trying - as the spearmint flavour of the Tom's toothpaste maybe a bit too strong.

Fluoride aside, it is also quite difficult to get childrens toothpaste that doesn't contain some form of sweetner...

We just used to put a tiny amount of the ordinary fluoride free on a toothbrush when my kids were babies, i think one of the points of baby toothpaste is it should be fluoride free as even TPTB dont recommend fluoride for children under 2.

Here is another brand you may find in a chemist or supermarket or mail order.

Holland and Barratt usually have a branch in most towns and they sell quite a few different fluoride free toothpaste brands including Toms.

Thanks a lot for that! The Burt's Bees line doesn't appear to have toothpaste - but the rest of it looks worth investigating. And the Tom's toothpaste looks just what I wanted. As for the sodium lauryl sulfate, I will have a look into it.

Only other thing is, I wonder if it is even necessary to use toothpaste for babies. She has two teeth that are barely showing at the moment...

The only drawback I can think of is whether this product has sodium lauryl sulfate, the industrial foaming agent. Not sure what the ingredients are for this.

Wish I could help you with the Tom's baby toothpaste. However....thought I'd pass along the recommendation of Burt's Bees. They have a line of products for babies, called Baby Bee. Supposed to be all natural ingredients. Burts is a good brand. So in case you're interested:

Looking to buy some Tom's children's toothpaste and no one near us actually stocks it. I have had a bit of a look around on the 'net and can only find stores that sell the version with fluoride in it - which isn't the one I want.

Would also be wanting to buy some other products from them - so any suggestions would be good.
