Hmm, thank you BB for the input. I'll try and employ this to see what happens. Ironically, I already do look at my hands throughout the day, but never really thought about it much. When asleep, I look at my lower legs and feet more often. A lot of the time the sensation of having a body per say, is not present-but the joy of flying is so great that it is disappointing to have to come back to my body

It feels that the dream reality/life is just as important/significant as the waking reality/life. Dreaming seems more fun much of the time, but oftentimes the lessons are laden with more "stuff" to digest.

What about "shared" dreaming where the participants somehow mutually dream as if in waking reality experiences?

Besides for dream-signs and triggering lucidity just from reading large quantities of information on it, there's a simple hand-technique that has been known to work on many people.

All you have to do is repeatedly look at your hands in waking-life. It's up to you if you want to do it throughout the day or a bunch repeatedly at once. When you do anything constantly, day in -- day out, it becomes a subconscious habit which carries over to lala-land.

When you sleep however, your hands melt when you look at them. So whenever you are doing this in waking life, note to yourself that if you were asleep, then it would trigger you into lucidity.

Adieu.

Thank you wandering 1 for the link, something that I was exploring as of late.

How do you all keep from waking up when you know you're dreaming? It can be rather difficult mastering the art of being the director/producer of your dream world, it seems to have a purpose /message in many regards. A message that is "cloaked", somehow making us "work" for it. Mechanics are quite different from waking reality; apples and oranges don't even come close to attempting to describe it at all.

The times when I don't wake up it is "let's have fun time" flying all over the place with others, exploring the landscape, experienceng different timelines ect. Guess I watched too much Star Trek in my younger years...

The latest "theme" or notable observation the past couple of years have been holograms in the sky-shown to the general public during a big event-like 4th of July or political rally. People act kinda asleep or unaware of what's really going on and are transfixed by the "show". The gut feeling has always been to "s--- and get" when this finally does occur. A message of being aware, not allowing oneself to succumbing to paralyzing fear, and keeping one's cool is crucial. The "show" contunues and the people still don't get it, like they are programmed or something.

Hi wandering!

I think lucid dreaming is a great idea. In fact, it was the next thing I planned to tackle as soon as finish up with the book I'm currently reading. I plan to read the Carlos Castandeda material on this, "The Art of Dreaming", and anything else I can get my hands on. The reason being is that I've experienced first hand entity feeders who like to hijack dreams and send them spiraling in a negative direction - fear, anger, fighting, sadness, crying, etc. so they can feed. I don't want something feeding on me. So I want to learn how to be more aware and in control when I'm dreaming, so I can recognize when something's up and not just be all mindlessly caught up in some stupid negative dream, giving them loosh, and only waking up after the fact when it's all over.

Plus, I'm sure whatever techniques one can gather for lucid dreaming can also be applied in the waking world, like you said. We can all stand to be a little more awake and aware. Most of us at some point do the "autopilot" thing, or fall victim to knee-jerk programmed reactions without thinking. It can't hurt, is how I look at it.

I am new to the idea of lucid dreaming as defense, but I have read about lucid dreaming and I think it might work. I am interesting in any input people may have.

We can divide consciousness into three major states: waking, dreaming, and deep sleep. My defense proposal builds on the idea that awareness protects. Let's say that negative entities come and increase fear levels while we are dreaming. If we were aware while we are dreaming, I think that provoking fear in us would be much harder to do.

I can see people saying, "I don't want to be aware when I'm dreaming, as it's hard enough to be aware all day when I am awake." But if the price of being unaware while dreaming is opening yourself to negative attack, then that's a high price to pay. You may end up getting a better sleep if while sleeping you remain aware while dreaming.

I have also read that awareness while dreaming lends a whole new quality to waking life. I'm going to give it a try. Any thoughts?
