"Satanic" was a vague and poor choice of words in my first post to describe these symbols, but StarCat and others picked up exactly what I was getting at. The energy behind the symbol. I don't believe that symbols are ONLY what you make of them. (Also, when I first saw the Disturbed logo, it was on a kid's hat, and I thought it was an upside-down cross in the top-center of the logo. I realized later that it is in fact symetrical, not just upside down. When I look at it now, I can still see the upside-down cross within the pentagram, but maybe I've looked at too many death metal logos... Nevertheless, it does smack of "one world religion")

Here's another interesting one I saw last night, this is a new Garth Brooks box set (mainstream superstar of the country music industry USA):

Exalting the "g".
Arms raised in a "V".
And the phrase "The Entertainer".

I think it was Michael Tsarion I heard who pointed out that the lowercase "g" is meant to look like a hooded cobra/serpent. (is Garth Brooks a mason?)

Tim

And if one considers the lyrics of bands like Disturbd, one might note that if something "satanic" is implied from the symbol, then perhaps something "satanic" will do us better than the other religious bickering thats been going on.

Occasionally I draw the Solar Wheel/Falun/wan symbol on various school work just because I like the symbol and it's meaning and everyone that sees it accuses me of being a Nazi or something. It's a terrible represention of entire cultures.
Also, the Maltese Cross is used on the brand Independent, which is really popular among the youth. Again, they have no idea what the symbol represents.

This is similar to a post I made long ago, possibly in another forum regarding the way youth will take up a symbol and go about sporting it without knowing what it might mean. Symbols both are and are not eaxctly what we make of them. The " are not " part stems from the fact that they are geometric and mathematical representations of things that are beyond this realm, beyond the veil. What the youth do with these symbols is primarily motivated from the subconscious, its also a type of tribal behavior. Ignorance about the possible meanings and esoteric associations of symbols is unwise because they are gateways into other levels of reality. It needs to be realized that these symbolic geometries I am referring to did not originate in this realm but were brought in as many things are " brought " in. Its the earthbound ego that thinks it is separate and the sole creator of its own thoughts, but this is not the case. Far from it.
Just ignorance proper is a problem.
For example just about anyone you might ask on the street would not know the difference between the Nazi Swaistka and the correctly turned Solar Wheel. This ignornace is a stark and telling sign just how people do NOT think but rather accept a subconscious and societal momentum which is not rooted in truth. I believe the symbol I researched at the time was another popular one sported by all manner of people that don't have a clue what it really means ,which is the Iron or Maltese Cross. As it turns out this is a benevolent symbol.

The ones with the chains and s&m style clothes are all emos. Don't worry about them, their opinions don't count. As for the ones without those decorations, just the symbols on shirts/hats/whatever, they wear these symbols not for their meaning, but just because they like the band and the symbol looks cool. Trust me, there's no satanic upbringing in America's youth today.

This is mainly an observation to point this out, but lately I have been seeing these symbols on shirts and hats among all the teens in town. They are apparently popular new bands with kids in America. Even here in rural California, there are huge herds of teens all dressed like gothic clowns, in all black with chains dragging the ground and violent s&m-themed clothing styles. I have seen teens spraypaint the heartagram symbol in various locations around town, maybe the other logo is too complicated to paint for most of them.

Of course both bands say that their logos are symbolic of the "duality of light and darkness" and of course "nothing satanic is meant to be implied!"

logo of the band DISTURBED

logo of the band HIM

I think the "Satanic panic" of the late 80s has been replaced by utter apathy on the parts of parents at this point. How would you feel if one of your children came home decked out with this symbol? Hmm..

Tim
