(Assuming one makes plans or anticipates anything at all.)</p><p>Gives one a unique perspective on from where it is that the present may originate, does it not?</p></blockquote></div><p>In the name of all things serious and also fun under the sun - like mental clarity and guava juice :</p><p>Xenopope -- i agree -- the past exists in our minds as it gets recorded (whether it&#039;s factual or we end up adding/subtracting stuff is another story - but maybe also part of the same story) ... and the future -- well it hasn&#039;t happened yet but we can certainly imagine/envision various scenarios in our heads and i&#039;m pretty sure many of us do all the time ... </p><p>to be aware of the present -- to see things clearly - with what&#039;s happening around me - as well as inside of me, i know i need to be paying attention -- and i&#039;ve noticed that when i&#039;m paying attention, my mind is quiet - it&#039;s not chatting away ... </p><p>however - as i observe myself, and as i watch my mind - thoughts from the past creep in all the time -- sometimes by themselves with no seeming rhyme or reason for them to pop up, and sometimes in response to events that are happening ...</p><p>i think it&#039;s in this way that the past can be limitting / debilitating ... all the hurts that are acquired in various forms ... and when i think about the future sometimes there are worries or fears that come - what will happen - what if this happens or this doesn&#039;t happen, what if i get hurt again, what if i fail -- again it&#039;s fear -- that&#039;s why i THiNK that thinking is tied to fear in this way ... </p><p>so that&#039;s one part of memory ... </p><p>i see the past as the future - just repeating ... unless we&#039;re grounded in the present ... i believe that it&#039;s meeting myself in the present AS I AM (fears and flaws and all) that there is any hope of breaking free from the past &amp; future ...</p><p>-- that&#039;s also when time ceases to exist -- in our heads -- in the present ... </p><p>K says the act of observation means caring -- that it&#039;s a COMPLETE non-fragmentary movement -- love and freedom (i&#039;m scared of using those words sometimes) but those things are also tied into observation as well ... when you understand yourself - you can start to understand other people ...</p><p>maybe it&#039;s more complicated than this and there&#039;s lots of things i don&#039;t know or don&#039;t understand -- but at the most basic level -- this is it 4 me ...</p><p>for ne1 reading this: what do you think about time being related to sorrow or fear ?</p>]]></description>
