I haven't read much Castaneda, but I'd say off hand that Ruiz' books are quite practical yet incredibly powerful if read with the second sight. Ruiz emphasis is on the power of integrity which resides in our inner self while Castaneda could be considered a testimony to the teachings of sacred plants and their symbiotic relationship with the shaman. Just my impression.

Thanks Starcat - I was looking for a 'free' PDF version, but no joy. yet.

I love Ruiz's books, and didn't know he had a new one out. What's so great about his work is that it doesn't demand that you give up your current "systems," it augmets whatever path you're on. Thanks for the heads up on his latest.

I just looked at the book on Amazon, and I should add that this book was not written by Ruiz himself. It was written and published by a woman in my home town, actually. However, she got her teachings from Ruiz.

For those seeking something that was written for this time we are currently in I advise the collected works of Don Miguel Ruiz and in particular, his last book " Beyond Fear."
This source is more practical and more magical than any available.
It pertains to the time we are in.
It does not introduce doubt.
It does not bind people to negative thoughtforms about the future of Earth or suggest the posibility of a malevolent collective destiny.

Of specific importance is the value he places on knowedge which is discussed towards the end of the book. I am not going to quote from those pages. Those who realize the importance of what I am speaking about will be drawn to read.
