Hi limukala

That reminds me of something that happened to me a while back. I've had bouts of sleep paralysis off and on ever since I can remember but I've never been able to relate to the weight-on-your-chest phenomenon nor have I ever seen any 'hags' or anything of that nature. However, I do recall once having the bed pulled out from under me while I was in that state and there I was floating above a crevasse just beyond the reach of a whole multitude of dark shadowy beings, all clamoring to get a hold of me. Oddly enough, I wasn't overly frightened, just alarmed. I have no recollection of what led up to it, but fortunately I was able to wiggle my way out without too much difficulty afterwards.

IMHO I'd say it's 'external' interference, at least that's what my gut tells me. I'm trying really hard not to overthink things it too-too much right now.

I couldn't decide what topic to post this under, so general discussion it is.

I had my first lucid dream for about 10 years last night. It was really nice, because when I had them in highschool, I would usually waste them with absurd sexual fantasies that would always wake me up.

Last night was different. I was putting a bar of platinum (what a dream eh?) and two bars of silver through the x-ray at an airport when I realized one of the bars of silver was gone and the other mysteriously split in half when I picked it up. At first I was concerned at the missing bar, and so was the TSA attendant (once again, nice dream eh?), but I quickly realized that it had disappeared because I was dreaming!
Sweet! I thought, I'm having a lucid dream. It didn't last long though. Almost immediately I was tempted by a sexual fantasy again, but this time I said "no thanks, I want to use this experience in a more fulfilling way."
As soon as I rejected the sexual fantasy, all these tentacles wrapped around me and started dragging me into some really dark dream space. I remained calm and remembered not to tense up or give in to fear. It worked, but unfortunately I woke up in process, or so I thought. It wasn't till I really woke up that I realized I had woken into more dreaming, but not the lucid kind.

Something really didn't want me having a lucid dream. What do you guys think, some subconscious aspect of myself, or darker external forces at work (or does it even make sense to differentiate the two)?
