When we incarnate into physicality our soul needs 'tools' to use so we can focus on the particulars our Higher Self would like us to this time around. Those 'tools' while in physicality are called a Natal Chart. And just like all the range of notes on a piano, we can rise or sink or level out within our Natal Chart's energetic system. It's all up to us how we choose to use or not use our 'tools' in each incarnation.

Astrology is a useful tool for decoding the archetypal influence in the affairs of mankind.
At best its a weather map for what can and will most likely go wrong.
The real problem however is that we have to remove the archetypal influence from our future because its purpose is to prevent any real mastery and keep us on wheels and circles of perpetual conflict and disharmony.
By whatever means necessary we need to start dismantling the archetypal influence in our reality and it starts with individuals who have realized we are done with them.

By being aware of our ingrained patterns - whether they be strengths or weaknesses, tendencies or temptations of the ego, we can become free of the matrix.
Yes, astrology is a tool of the matrix. But we, who are really working towards true freedom, (as opposed to those who are totally lost in the illusion, or as I said, using it as an excuse to remain fixed) can be smart and use it to our advantage. Use knowledge of the System to beat the System.
And all the while, you can remember that you are not the planets in the signs in the houses of your birth chart - you are more like the clear, uncluttered centre of the chart (without the angle lines) - pure energy that is experiencing life from this unique viewpoint of an individual soul.
And like anything, it is important to take information gleaned from any tool outside of oneself, and run it by our intuition (inner teacher), thereby:
(a) strengthening our connection with one's true self and
(b) discerning the veracity of what we have learned and its appropriateness to our spiritual growth.

In my opinion, astrology, rather than being used as a crutch or excuse for inaction, for sticking to an old program, or for remaining trapped in the matrix ("because its in my chart, I'll always be like this") etc, is a tool that can assist us to awaken.

If you have an inkling of an up-coming wave (by viewing a transit), you can surf the wave instead of being dumped by it.

That's how I choose to see it anyway! I (received a diploma of astrological counselling in 1997 and) find it a helpful tool for some people. I think it helps to know one's false/ego/matrix - or maybe incomplete - identity using a tool like astrology while on the journey to know/rediscover one's true Self.

And like anything, it is important to take information gleaned from any tool outside of oneself, and run it by our intuition (inner teacher), thereby:
(a) strengthening our connection with one's true self and
(b) discerning the veracity of what we have learned and its appropriateness to our spiritual growth.

Thanks for the link... interesting!! I'm no expert, but I do find astrology fascinating and often eerily accurate. This guy describes four Saturn births, and having a strong Saturn myself, I compared what he said with my own chart and life experience... and he is right on!

I was definately what he calls a late bloomer. My 2nd birth (according to this site) coincided with meeting my now husband, the 3rd with marrying, and my 4th (the nurturing one) matches up with the birth of my first child.

Amazing!

There is always some exotic transit around the corner waiting to deal out its forces. Mercury retrogrades are getting particularly problematic with the increasing energy shift in the subtle planes that affect matter and the Solar, Photonic changes...and others I might be forgetting. I'm getting sick literally of what astrologers have to say because its all just endless repeating circles with these so called superior [inferior] forces acting out there schemes thru mankind because they are not in body. I think maybe they might need to try the incarnation thing next and see how much they like it.
By whatever means necessary we need to start dismantling the archetypal influence in our reality and it starts with individuals who have realized we are done with them.
Also the analysis of transits has the potential to alter things in unexpected ways. Plans within plans. Weird ynchronicities and black cats crossing to the left.

Thought I'd post the link to Bill Herbst's site: http://www.billherbst.com

I'm not very knowledgeable, or particularly interested in astrology (other than Rob Brezny's brilliantly creative weekly horoscope!), but I like Bill's monthly posts because they focus on the coming *Shift* or the big planetary transition that's begun. He's an intelligent guy, knowledgeable about history and current events and very practical. I will say his readings are dense, and I usually skim over the hard-core astrology stuff, but some of his past reports are well worth reading. If anything, his column is a monthly confirmation that the winds of universal change are a-blowin'. Here's a snippet from his July report:

We are undergoing collective disillusionment. And that, strangely enough, is a good thing. Hypnosis has
been the order of the day for a long time, and now the trance is slowly being broken. We’re not yet
awake–that term won’t even begin to apply until Saturn opposes Uranus (2008-2011), and then the real
awakening hits big time when Uranus squares Pluto (2012). But even now, the hypnagogic state of false
happiness, false passion, and false certainty is beginning to wear off. In mass terms, we’re still drowsy,
still somnabulistic, but not totally asleep. As a result, many of us are grumpy, to say the least. We don’t
like being roused from slumber, but it’s grudgingly necessary.
Disenchantment is one of the crucial passages on any authentic spiritual path. Initially, many people are
drawn to take their first steps down that road because some siren song lures us. A perfect world, perhaps,
or an end to suffering. Oh, it will be so wonderful when we reach heaven! (or enlightenment or satori or
whatever...) Whether it’s the Rapture or 77 virgins or peace-and-love we hope may await us, we’re
beguiled by the fantasies. Along the way, however, we have to give up those illusions and dreams.
In collective terms, we’re in limbo, waiting. This is the calm before the storm of Act Three, when Saturn
opposes Uranus. That won’t come for another year and a half, though. For now, patience is a virtue.
