"There is an ancient Mohawk prophecy that affirms that, after the dark times, after the termination of Indians, the red tree will grow its root, blossoming again. In these times that hopefully are soon to come, the Iroquois League of Peace will become the perfect model of government for people living in community. The predictions mention that the Iroquois form of councils will reach all Americas, as a perfect inspiration to all the people. This ancient form of native government perfectly affiliates both communal and true democratic tendencies, holding the vote of women in this matriarchal society as sacred and most important. For women are always in the majority, representing the children as well. The League of Peace has survived many wars and more than one conquest. It is the only Indian, matriarchal government that exists entirely intact today, as it did before the conquest, in all the Americas. When the prophecy is fulfilled, this will be the return of the true council ways among all the people.
"To a certain degree, this has already been occurring in recent decades. We can observe seeds of discontentment and anger all over. The ruling governments are not aligned with the peoples' inner ideals. Individuals strive harder every day just to survive. It is exhausting to live in Western society, especially for the poor, lower, and middle classes. The systems that rule our lives are constantly competing, outrageously complicating the lives of the common people and suffocating everyone with incomprehensible and arbitrary laws. Actual politics are a dead end. Most governments stand as puppets in the hands of big financial powers, never consulting us for what we, the people, have to say. Our nervous systems try to subsist, constantly under the pressure of all the taxes we have to pay, the world "services" of revenue that are most often, spying regimes of terror to get the money of the contributors. The insurance companies literally strangle their customers, instead of protecting them, not to mention that constant inflation that plagues many countries, the violence that is everywhere, and weather disasters, to name but a few of humanity's hardships. On top of all this, the exasperating computerized phone "attendants", the bad temper of most people, unkind looks at all times, not to mention the tremendous pressure imposed on us by the end of the Baktun and the photon bombarding us and asking us to grow!! The picture is quite enticing, don't you think?
"In view of all this, it is obvious that the shift from the old dissonant frequency into new ways of being, and the imperative to align to the new cosmic harmonics of the Earth, could be much more easily acheived if we could align our ways of living together to these natural forces. With such disconnection between some of the marionettes who "rule" us, those who have the "power", and those who try to simply live a human life, however, the result can only be massive and pathetic depression, expressed in the collective incapacity to breathe freely (and not only because of air pollution!). In the first world countries, where the majority of people live isolated, with no moral resources other than heading to the psychotherapist, subsisting as individuals and robotized into a constant pushing of external buttons (never the true internal ones), we are made passive by a "what's-the-use" mentality imposed by cultural thinking, ensuring that no one will ever create a real revolution, even in their own lives. In the third world, the extreme misery imposed by the ruling powers, and the moral abandonment, attempts to ensure the same.
"In the end, the Earth will have the last word, expressed through those who follow her powerful voice. This is when true changes will befall, when the social modifcations will unify the duality of darkness and light in our daily lives, starting at the trivial levels of our lives. This is the return toward dreaming the ancient forms of councils, councils so well adapted to the true ways of being human among humans, of showing the way to self-government. This is timely. We must create energetic openings to allow these perfect wheels to return as our form of living. This can only result from our internal and irremediable frustrations, because these are the major triggers within us to make the true changes."
