I'm reading the Local Membership Agreement and it seems like I had better get a lawyer to tell me what the " hell " it all means...... Why all the heavy handed " RULES "???? What exactly is all that for on a sight such as this, and why is all that necessary???

It's necessary, my friend, so that we do not get sued. Holistic Local is a business, not a club. And as a business, we have an obligation to protect ourselves. We also have an obligation to protect our members. That is what the Membership Agreement states. If you don't understand legalize, fine. Here's a short, short version that you can hopefully understand:

Holistic Local Membership Agreement
If you want to use our site, you agree to this agreement. Otherwise, don't use it. You must be 16 years of age or older. If you're not, don't use it.

Privacy Policy:
We have a Privacy Policy which states that we collect certain kinds of personal information from you. You agree that this is okay and peachy.

Account Security:
You are responsible for your account, and anything that is posted to the site via your account.

Modification:
We might change this Membership Agreement. If we do, we'll notify you.

Service Limitation:
Don't steal stuff from us.

Third Party Links:
We're not responsible for the content of the sites we link to.

Prohibited Use:
Don't be an asshole to other members. Respect each other, and the owners of the websites that you use. Thanks.

Acceptable Use Policy:
Don't spam anyone. Don't call anyone else nasty names. Don't upload porno. Don't be racist or bigoted. Don't upload other people's copyrighted material. Don't upload viruses and other nasties. Don't troll. Etc, etc. Look, just be nice and respectful - okay? Thanks. We appreciate it.

And if you can't be nice, we'll delete your damned account.

Oh, and be careful of giving out any information relating to your kids.

Payment:
You agree to pay for the things you want to buy. We agree to accept your payment.

Refund Policy:
If within 30 days of ponying up the money, you decide you want it back, fair do's.

Content:
What's ours is ours. Nothing on this site comes with a warranty. Therefore, we won't be responsible for anything that you do with our information that backfires on you. You are your responsibility. Case closed.

Termination of Membership:
We reserve the right to terminate your membership of our site at any time. We probably won't do it, we just want to reserve the right to do it. Also it would be really helpful if you would keep your account information up to date. Cheers.

Spam Policy:
If you're a spammer, we won't be happy. We'll probably delete your account. You have been warned. Please do not spam. We don't like spam. Not even in sandwiches.

General:
You agree to this agreement.

This agreement is governed by the laws of the United Kingdom, regardless of which country you live within.

We might have to divulge some of the personal information you provide to us if we are legally bound to do so. We won't be happy about it, but we'll do it.

If we've buggered up any part of this agreement, we'll change it.

This document is legally binding, and can therefore be used in any legal proceedings.

Notices:

All of our communication to you about your account will be in electronic form. You agree to receive it to the e-mail address that you gave us.

Indemnification:
We are not responsible for what you do on the site. We will notify you if we wish to take legal action against something naughty that you've done.

Copyright:
I think this part is fairly self explanatory. Basically, what's on this site is ours.

Advantage Members’ Website Policy:
Don't use your website for illegal purposes. You are responsible for any content you post on it. We aren't. And again, there is no damned warranty.

Seriously, I've joined the Australian site - I think its a wonderful opportunity to network.  It just seems a logical step forward to not only join minds, so to speak, with like-minded people, but also assist each other as far as possible in physical terms - which Holistic Local enables.

I've been a lot quieter than usual lately, mostly because me and Jase have been working really hard all year. As some of you may remember we launched Holistic Local a year ago, a directory for holistic & conscious business.

Well after many months of hard work we've just re-launched the site with a new (and fabulous) redesign and lots of cool new features including social networking. So now we're sort of a holistic MySpace (cool or what!? ). So yes Tenetnosce you now finally have a spiritual dating site - at least that's one use for it, it's not just about dating! Not only that, but it's completely free!!

Anyway we only just re-launched a few days ago and haven't gone into full-on promotion mode just yet. That'll probably happen next week when I get back from a much need vacation (I leave wednesday for a week).

In the meantime me and Jase would be very grateful if Noble Realms members would join up. You don't have to create a social networking profile if you don't want to, I guess not everyone's looking to make new friends. Once you get past the first signup page just click on the hometab if u don't want to create a community profile.
