Why is it that psychopaths reach the top while the honest folks remain in their underpaid positions doing all the work for them? Because the game is rigged. Breaking or exploiting the rules is how you stop losing a rigged game. But that is if you want to play the game in the first place. If a job is not in your best interest, despite resistance you can still pry your way in with manipulative tactics. If a job is meant for you, it will fall into place without having to use those special tactics.

Whether to lie or not on resume depends on how badly you want the job. Are you willing to accept that your best honest effort may not be enough to secure the job? If not, then lie without remorse and do it well. This works best for soulless matrix-saturated companies that make you jump through hoops, who are big on the "team player" concept and similar corporate memes. But if you are seeking work from a genuinely honest, personable, and perceptive employer, then lying will either set off their BS detector, or get you the job with a large dose of guilt.

Just remember that getting a job is simply a game, within the game, within the game. (You know of what I speak)

So simply lie.

Practically all job interviews involve both the company and the person being interviewed telling the other party what they think they want to hear.

I would simply imagine you are a customer, and then think of all the things you would appreciate from the staff in question. Then simply put down on paper that this sort of behaviour not only comes second nature, but that you enjoy doing it.

Use some cheesy corporate lines like "I am always completely customer focussed", "I am a dynamic team player". But mix it in to some more sincere individual insights.

I'm in IT, and if I never lied, I wouldn't be in the comfy number I am now. Nor would anyone else I know!!!

Hope that helps.

Hmmmmm... we meet again!

Well, a few years ago I studied up on how to write resumes (and I happen to be good with words). I may need some more information, though.

When you say "shop", what exactly do you mean? Is this a retail shop, machine shop, chop shop? (just kidding)

Would you have any past education relating to this (vocational training, business courses, etc.)?

Would you have any work experience related to this (have you trained people in the past or had any supervisory positions)?

Have you ever been in any extracurricular activities that might relate to this new vocation?

Languages are always a plus as well.

A preliminary paragraph might go something like this:

I am a self-starter, self-supervisable individual who is detail oriented and achieves goals. No task is beneath me, and I am comfortable with training others. I always welcome learning new things.

Feel free to e-mail me on any particulars.

Take Care!

I have decided to get a part-time job to suppliment my earnings - bascially just working in a shop is all I am after.

However, my career history is all in office work etc. From past experience this has factored against me, when applying for shop work. Obvsiously the first paragraph or "profile" on the resume is the thing that is going to get the most attention. As words have great power, picking the right words and sentances would be really important. So I am hoping for some suggestions and ideas of what would be good to write.
