Perhaps this belongs in a different topic, but i really would like to bring this up....

I have a problem with this, and i've been wrestling with it for awhile. It deals with the matter of duality, positive and negative. There seems to be much tendency to disregard, disclaim, and remove negative parties, within and and without. You can see this in the media, politics, and forums such as this.

Why is this?

There was a time when I desperately cleared my home of all negative influences and entitities. Now I seek balance. Isn't the negative as much as the Creator's creation as the positive? I think of these opposing dualities and i immediately think of our current administration preaching through God's name who is Good and who is Evil. Is this really what our spiritual progress comes to? War with opposing forces?

I guess i've always been somewhat of a pacifist, even my brother tells me that when I refuse to have anything to do with family arguments. I just wonder whether or not duality should remain in ourselves (balance of light and dark within us) or outside ourselves (a whole bunch of light and a whole bunch of dark amongst different factions)

I do agree that we really do have influence over the forces that guide us, overwhelm us, lead us towards certain lifestyles and actions. But how are we to be sure that path we hope is ours, is indeed the Creators'?

What is the opposite of Truth?
Truth is ultimate, it needs no opposite to define itself.

What is the opposite of Light?
Merely the absence of it.

Nexus, what I got from reading the book was making the statements was like ripping up a contract one had signed so that's why you only had to say it one time, apparently (hopefully?) once you rip it up it stays ripped up.   I found what you wrote of the power of the word and throat chakra inspiring as well....

A corresponding thrust of one's inner forces must be the answer to the negative forces and our inner thrust is most effective when it comes from the power center.... which is the throat chakra.  Given daily,  the repetition of positive affirmations in the power of the spoken word is the key to building a victory consciousness over a consciousness of defeat.   This is exactly the power behind the science of mantra as it has been practiced for millenia.  Some people 'can' this sort of thing calling it new age clap trap... or old age mind control.  But it's not at all.  We know even from the work of Masaro Emoto and his water crystals that sound is a powerful creative force.  This has been known for aeons and practiced 'forever' east and west. 

It is a liberating power because the spoken word can unlock the spiritual force of the "lost word" within.  The "lost word" is the christ consciousness which is the spiritual Self.  That self is depicted as the conqueror on a white horse in the Book of Revelation.  And out of the mouth of the rider proceeds a sword.  An S- word.  A sacred word.  It is sacred because it is spoken by the inner warrior... the christ Self.  THAT is the creative power to defeat all the enemies in the subconscious arrayed against the soul... anxiety, depression, hopelessness, anger, greed, hatred...

It is also written in the Book of Revelation that  "whosoever would harm the Two Witnesses, fire proceeds out of their mouths to consume their enemies"   This is another reference to the power of the spoken word when aligned with the inner Self with divine intention.

Goodness gracious, Nexus... I thoroughly got chills reading this. Sacred words, indeed. I bet I'll be reading these words of power every day now after this. Great post!

In order to get the full benefit from positive affirmations you need to give them 'religiously'.   A daily ritual if you like.  Popeye ate spinach every day to defeat Brutus.  When Brutus turned up to give him a whoopin',  Popeye opened his mouth and poured the spinach in.  Even when Brutus seemed to have him licked and Popeye was on the brink of disaster the can opened and the spinach made it's way into Popeye's open mouth... even defying gravity sometimes to renew Popeye's strength.  If you don't like spinach try opening your mouth and giving positive spoken affirmations to defeat the negative forces in your inner and outer world.  Experiment with using them daily, not just once.  Like Brutus, the dark forces in the astral plane, and within self, can mount a new thrust against our best intentions at any time.  This is something that is definately sensed as some level of anxiety, depression, spiritual and physical lethargy, sadness and a sense of frustration and unfulfillment.  Everything that Brutus tried to bring upon Popeye comes upon us as we cycle through our karmic and astrological cycles.

A wise philosopher once said:  "The wise man governs his stars"  ... ie... by the science of the spoken word.   We are not meant to be governed by lower forces [inner or outer] ... [psychological or astrological] ... [economic, religious or political]

I have to share this. Just now I decided to read these intentions aloud. I read each one three times (my pagan background coming through ), and when I started I got what they call a body rush--all the hair on my body stood up. That's how I knew I had something here. But about halfway through, probably because "stuff" realized what was happening, I developed a coughing fit. Every time I spoke, I coughed. It got severe enough that my eyes were totally running tears! Finally I told them, "You're not going to stop me," and I finished reading the intentions. Now that I'm done, I'm not coughing anymore. I just read this paragraph aloud to test this, and you got it--no coughing. Interesting, huh?

I feel very centered right now from having read the intentions. I feel like something may have shifted, but as they say, time will tell the tale. Like you, Vajra, I've got things to finish working out, but it will be interesting to see how everything develops.

I've been experiencing more and more time phenomena lately, too. Yesterday at lunch I saw an SUV out the window and thought it was backing up. When I looked again, it was stationary. FIVE SECONDS LATER two women got in it, backed up and drove away. (don't ask me about lottery numbers, folks...)

That is IT! You have hit the nail on the head...Excruciating Joy is exactly what I felt...joy that is almost painful to experience...some of the most intense emotions I've ever felt. Woohoo!!!:):):)

That's awesome!  I sense you are in a period that I experienced several years ago.  It was epiphany heaven.  I was so in touch with the infinite that I cried in joyous agony.  Excrutiating joy is how I put it.  If you ever felt excrutiating pain it had the same physical characteristics minus the pain and with joy in it's place.  By physical characterists I mean I was unable to move, think, blink, focus or anything.  I was just stuck there completely and thoroughly encased in the joy of what I saw (from the epiphanies).  I couldn't even think about what I saw.  It was just this non-thinking knowing.  In those minutes, I was the joy.  Any thought or movement only brought more uncontrollable tears.  Anyway, thank you for sharing and may you experience excrutiating joy.
