I have seen something similar to this before. It was a few years ago as I was driving home from work...on the route I pass a larger powerstation on a nearby island. Flying round the chimney stack was an object very much like you describe, though it was a bit to far to see clearly.

It moved pretty fast, almost like a bird...but more like one of those stunt kites you see. I couldn't look at it too long cuz of the direction the road changed it. But there was quite a lot of traffic so others must have seen it. Strange indeed...

Ok, I've kind of debated whether or not I should post this as I'm still trying to sort things out in my mind.

Anyways, yesterday as I was walking home for lunch I saw this odd object moving about in the sky just over the city where I live. At first it looked like some sort of bird, just by the way it was moving. It was moving in circular patterns dipping down periodically. It did have something that looked like "wings" although they didn't appear to move and the object itself looked solid and metalic rather than organic. After dismissing that thought, I figured it might be some sort of high flying RC airplane of sorts. As the object dipped down and flew closer it didn't seem to have the shape of any normal flying object I've seen. So from what I could tell, the object moved about like a bird, yet was rigid and mechanical without a form or motion that looked typical to normal airplanes.

As I watched this object, it appeared that it was composed of a central gray/metalic oval with these dark slightly rounded wing-like structures sticking out. No lights that I could see and this was in broad daylight.

I followed the object in the sky for another five minutes and watched as it zoomed off towards the north and vanished from view. I don't have any other witnesses to support me that I know of. It seems likely other people saw it, but probably dismissed it as being some sort of bird or plane of sorts.

I've seen 'ufo' type objects in the sky before, but usually they are basic metalic ovals and don't make any sort of odd airial manuvers. I usually just assume these are government craft of sorts, but even those I'm not sure of. This thing moved about as if it was trying to get attention. I'm not sure what to think, but it does make me wonder...

I'm going to have to start taking my camera with me on my walks home!
