Using zinc oxide now on various external places and I've noticed an improvement
immediately!  Funny, drugstores are keeping it BEHIND THE COUNTER.  Guess the
major sellers of medicine that doesn't work wants to keep it quiet, ey?

I actually started using zinc oxide as per Dr. Hulda Clark's advise regarding body products.  I was getting disgusted by what was considered a "health" brand of deoderant anyways.  Not only were they expensive, but most still had heavy metals!  The most obvious was the Burt's Bees natural spray deoderant.  Although the ingrediants were just herbal extracts and alcohol, the solution is sold in an aluminum canister!

Montalk, no wonder they say that taking a bath with baking soda is good for you, I just never
thought of it in terms of PH and bacterial growth threshold, thanks!

Thook, I haven't used regular deodorant for years, but I have been using one of those clear
"stones" they sell in the health food store.  Just wet it and rub it under your arms and let dry.
It's probably got alum in it, but I'm not sure.

They say back in the Golden Age (whenever that was) that humans didn't have bad smells.
What with the crap that's foisted upon us to eat these days and the anxiety produced by
constant competition with other STS types it's no wonder we have wanted to cover our
odor.  But your cleaning up of your diet has probably cleaned up your odor to mostly
normal human smell.  Which is okay.  I'm sure we have all noticed the difference between
honesty hard working sweat and nervous anxious sweat.

Interesting... I have been using something along the same lines:  zinc oxide, cornstarch, baking soda. Works pretty well. Readily available source of zinc oxide powder: Gold Bond's Medicated Powder. Just add cornstarch for dryness, baking soda to raise pH beyond bacterial growth threshold. No aluminum, no glycols, and antimicrobial.

Hey, Montalk! That sounds something that ought to go in your recipes thread along with biscotti. Maybe keep those little "dippers" from "burning"! Haha! (Although, they may not be very tasty...:( )
I really haven't worn deodorant in years, myself. There was a point when I found out how toxic they can be, and then just never bothered with using anything else, natural or otherwise, after that. I have found eating a cleaner diet and cleansing reduced b.o. dramatically. But, then, I love my bacteria. Works like garlic on vampires. You find out who your friends really are! And gives everyone else something to talk about. Yes, it's a service. "Happy smells", indeed! Ha!

I think I'll even use it on that rash on my dipper...(!)
