A little goes a looooong way with that particular poison.
I have heard that European water sources for bottle water are more trustworthy, considering flouridation is banned in many countries over there. One reason I like to go with imported beer and such, or homebrewing.(I live on a clean well) Do you know anything about this?

I like how they tried to sneak that in. Her school a couple yrs ago offered "free" flouride treatments.

I had been contemplating my brushing options for a while when I came across this thread. Thanks for all the good info!

I smoke cigarettes so I want to get rid of as much toxic crap ingestion as possible in my life. It's easier to "quit" things that you aren't addicted to Our water around here is fluoridated but at least I can change my toothpaste to avoid as much fluoride as possible. There's a HUGE health food/stuff store near my house so I decided to peruse their toothpaste options. I probably looked at about ten different brands before coming across the one I purchased. Some had sodium lauryl sulfate, and all had glycerin except this one. It's called miessences organics, and is from Australia by a company called ONEgroup (Organics and Natural Enterprise). It's certified organic by ACO. Came in 3 flavours (mint, annise, lemon), woo!

Ingredients:
organic aloe vera (aloe barbadensis) leaf juice, purified water, sodium bicarbonate, non-GMO xanthan gum, sea salt, organic spearmint (mentha spicata) essential oil, organic peppermint (mentha piperita) essential oil, organic cinnamon (cinnamomum zeylanicum) leaf essential oil, organic clove (syzygium aromatic) bud essential oil, stevia rebaundiana extract

57% organic product, 100% product natural

It was a little pricey at almost $8 compared to around $2-3 for "regular" fluoride major brands but I think it's a good investment for my mouth as well as body in general...damn fluoride!

BTW, I don't work for them, just suggesting this product as it seemed to be the best option I could find out of MANY on the shelf at the store. Now I just need to find a new water source and stop using teflon, shit....one thing at a time!

I stopped using toothpaste because it's unnecessary and the glycerin is so sticky that it stops your teeth re-growing. I've had no problems with tooth or gum decay and haven't even had bad breath.

Even if you rinse your mouth after you eat it's still important to keep rinsing it during the day. The bacteria in your mouth feed on sugar (particularly sucrose) and produce acid as their waste product, which is what eats away at your teeth and gums. bacteria have a nasty habit of taking up as much sugar as they can and storing it for when you're not feeding them enough. This means that even after eating they can still produce acid.

Haha and don't get me started on Fluoride! Our tap water's fluorodated and we go out every week and fill up containers with spring water just to avoid it! They've also finally done a study here which is highlighting that fluorodating the water has more detremental effects than benefits. They're even starting to realise the danger of Teflon which is a tetra-fluoride molecule. I also find it curious that prozac is tetra-fluoride too.

Okay, Just wanna ask if any of you guys and gals have experienced receding gums, ever. Mine are receding like there's no tomorrow. I've been to my 'lovely' dentist and she's prescribed me with an expensive Sonicare toothbrush. She also advised me to start getting into the habit of brushing vertically, which is difficult as i've got an auto-pilot program which runs on violent horizontal brushing. She says this caused the recession through trauma to my gums, which makes sense to me. So vertical and Sonicare is my way forward. This is all good an' that, but she tells me that there's no way of reversing the recession. Which really sucks, if it's true. I read about the surgical procedure for taking flesh from the roof of the mouth and grafting it onto the gum. Yikes! That just sounds so scary! And she's not willing to perform it anyhow.

I've been following Dr. Judd's advice and taking Water + Baking soda with Ascorbic Acid every day for the past six days. Can't really notice any improvement yet, though I wouldn't expect to in such a short period of time. I've also started using a section of my daily meditation session to focus my inner energy on encouraging my gum skin cells to grow back. This too I'm sure will take some time to manifest results.

Would appreciate any info.

Thanks.
