CortexVortex, there's an energy of hope in your post. Congratulations on your next step.

Those alternative news sites, like Rense, were definitely a stepping stone for me. I can't say I hit a snapping point either, but I definitely reached a point wherein I wanted solutions.

I like the phrase "next step." I like it because it advances the idea of a believable, gradual positive change rather than a total revamping.

To take a next step, all that's really required is to rise one degree in vibration. That can be raising from anger to amusement, from bitterness to acceptance, or from acceptance to "Serenity Now."

Like many of you, I have come to this forum seeking solutions, as well as more insight.
Lyra's piece on herding people onto the worst possible timeline was catalyst for me..
It confirmed what I had been feeling about the onesidedness of most of the Alt./Indymedia content.
There is a time to move on- for me that is now, however I cannot immediately eschew the sites which had such an impact on my awareness.
I will continue to scan the headlines- many times there is no need to go any further, for me.
I have to wonder how many of us would be contributors here were it not from information gleaned on those sites?
Even if they turn out to be only stepping stones, they have (had) their place- and serve a purpose.
I am certainly guilty of throwing up my hands at times and (mentally at least) screaming "serenity NOW!!"
My capacity for bad news was seemingly limitless.
I never hit that "snapping" point-
I would describe it as saturation- if I started to soak up too much- then I really began to drip it onto others.
The worst aspect for me, was that it took a toll on my sense of humor (which I value highly)- even that did not slow me down.
Here I am though. Content.
I am full.
It is for me a feeling of intense satisfaction.
Another chapter beginneth!

Despite the nastiness in the world, and all the trash I wallowed in, I am ready to focus on my next step- I hope to learn much from all of you- and know I will! <>
