What was even stranger is that some days I could hear and on other days I couldn't. I've since learned this is common in the initial stages of hearing loss, but
at the time, it made things even crazier than they already were.

On the days that I could hear, during practice for Communion, I was able to glean two lines from the hymn we were singing: Jesus, Jesus, come to me, All my longing is for thee. I was reminded of those lines by your posts, LipstickMystic and Haven. I too have felt this
connection to Jesus. The faults of Catholicism apart, I'm glad I was
doing this at that particular time, because I now feel that it brought this energy into me when I especially needed it, and that it's been sustaining me ever since, although I am tuned in more or less at different times.

Anyway, I was inspired to go online and find the song in its entirety, and I did. It's really beautiful, the pureness of the longing really comes through when it's sung. Thanks for providing the inspiration for me to finally learn the words of this sing that I've never forgotten!

Jesus, Jesus, Come to Me

Jesus, Jesus, come to me,
All my longing is for Thee,
Of all friends the best Thou art,
Make of me Thy counterpart.

Jesus, I live for Thee,
Jesus, I die for Thee.
I belong to Thee
Forever in life and death.

K, checked it out. I confess I'm a little tired of that debate; to me it's a non-issue.

This is more my thing, from the latest Tobias channeling at crimsoncircle.com :

Take the energy of Yeshua, Jesus. As we have said before, Yeshua is not a souled being. Yeshua is a composite. It is a collective energy of a large group of angels, including you, that helped to bring it into manifestation. The energy was so strong, filled with so much compassion and love that you were literally able to manifest “Christed-ness,” the Christ seed, the Christ consciousness and allow it to come into a physical body, a collective energy from all of you – and many others, of course – coming in at the appropriate time to Earth. Yeshua, in a sense, you could say, is not real at all, not real in the terms that you would normally think. It doesn't have an actual soul identity. But, yet Yeshua has come to mean so much.

Oh, then there is Jesus. You see, at one point Yeshua and Jesus were the same energy. But, now they are not at all. There is an entity on our side of the veil called Jesus, quite different from the energy of Yeshua. Jesus is perhaps the more contemporary version, but a version built from – how to say – the belief systems of the Christian churches right now. Jesus has manifested on our side of the veil, therefore can be felt on your side as well.

This energy of Jesus is quite different from Yeshua. But, it is the ones that – how to say – have put their energy together, wanted to be saved, wanted some type of judgment, wanted a – how to say – a figurehead or a leader, so they created this energy of Jesus. It wasn't there before. It didn't actually directly come out of Yeahua’s energy.

Yeshua – how to say – we’re getting a little off course here. But, Yeshua comes from the Order of Sananda, the House of Sananda, the angelic family of Sananda. Yeshua was manifested through that portal or that corridor. Jesus is quite different. Jesus is the manifestation of the current consciousness of the Christian Church.

So, there is a Jesus up here, and there is a Yeshua up here. We don't often get confused. We see the difference between the two. The energy of Jesus carries this burden. He continues to walk around with a cross. That’s why we don’t get confused (audience laughter). Yeshua carries no cross because there is no need for suffering. There is no need to pay for human sin because essentially there is no human sin. However, there was a group of humans who created a belief system, therefore an entity called Jesus, who literally on our side and yours either is carrying that cross around or is hanging from it.

Awesome insights from Seth on Christ and Christmas...

From The Early Sessions: Book 5 of the Seth Material, Session 213, Wednesday, December 01, 1965:

There were a few remarks that I intended to make concerning the Christmas season, and perhaps I should make them now.

If it seems to you that there is a great gap existing within Christianity, between ideals expressed, and actions, then let me tell you that conditions would indeed be far worse if these ideals had not initially been expressed, and if they were not yearly reaffirmed.

As you [Jane and Rob] both suppose, enough constructive psychic energy is generated during the holiday season to recharge psychic batteries, so to speak, for quite some time. Were it not for this your whole race would be in much more serious a predicament.

‘One of the reasons, Joseph [Rob], for your own lack of festive spirit in the past has been the result of your realization that this gap between idealism and action is great. You could not therefore enter into what you felt to be hypocrisy of the season. All the more, since you have no particular conviction, anymore than Ruburt [Jane] has, concerning the historic existence of a Christ.

To some extent, I have explored some of this, but it will do you well to join wholeheartedly into the very necessary spirit of the time, for it is constructive and most beneficial. And, in so doing, you help yourself and others.

Now: There was no historic Virgin Birth, and no historic Crucifixion. This does not mean that these do not represent symbolic realities.

... This feeling that Christmas represented hypocrisy has been one of the main reasons for your [Rob’s] own low spirits during the season, for it represented a rather deep disillusionment with the culture in which you were nurtured.

The legend of Christ is of great psychic import however, and is intrinsically true. This does not mean it is based in historical fact. In many ways it is more true than historic fact, for man himself created that which had not been provided. The creation nevertheless happened in quite real terms, and is part of mankind’s inner recognition of the pyramid gestalts of which I have spoken.

This was as close as man could come in his imagination to that which is, and this is all right. The basic idea behind Christmas is definitely important, whether or not the intellect is able to see its significance.

Now: Psychologically alone this is beneficial, for it acts against those feelings of despair that can creep up during the winter season. And by reminding men of a birth and a resurrection it hints at the innate abilities of the race to transcend physical time and space.

The getting out of oneself that is involved is excellent therapy, and therapy that does others good, as well as the self involved. There is much more here, however. Culturally speaking, there is a strong connection with pagan intuitions, deep and meaningful, that found newer and broader expression.

The character of Christ as it is portrayed is an excellent one, since it stressed human rather than specifically male qualities. Or should I say it stressed human qualities rather than those unfortunately considered male qualities. It stressed the best qualities of the race as a whole.

The personality of Christ is an idealization, and a clue to the entity of which each individual personality is composed. And as far as prayer is concerned, though I realize that neither of you pray in those terms, someone does indeed listen. The self who prays listens, and makes necessary adjustments and improvements. For the individual is part of All-That-Is, and therefore partakes of the abilities of the psychic gestalts of which we have so sketchily spoken.

VERRRY INTERESTING. I'm going to have to re-read these more closely later, but what jumps out at me is that of Marcion's statement of presenting the letters of Paul to the Church in Rome. There is historical evidence that this indeed took place, and that Marcion sought to be Bishop, but was rejected due to his "herectical teachings" on his rejection of the OT and its God. The Church DID take his Letters of Paul and inserted them into the NT, but only after Marcion circulated HIS bible (which contained the letters of Paul and Luke only) first. Luke is written in koine Greek, the common languge of the Mediteranean. And Marcion came from the same area of Turkey as did Apollonius and Paul. Samaritan was a Palestinian-Arabic dialect, and none of these have come down to us. There seems to be some sort of confusion in my mind about merging Apollonius, Paul, Marcion, and Jesus together. Distortions invaribly occur in channelings, so you gotta go on intuition, right? But some of this smacks of the truth to me, so I'll check it out. Thanks, brah.

If you read alot about Marcion and Luke, scholarship always follows the orthodox line that Marcion stole from Luke and Paul. But a few think Marcion may have been been unfairly accused, and that actually the opposite occured. Some scholars have accused Luke of being a "crank." I wonder if this is the same "Lucian" who wrote a satire called "The Passing of Peregrinus", in which Peregrinus takes advantage of the generosity and gullibility of Christians. This is one of the earliest surviving pagan perceptions of Christianity. He was also from the same of Turkey as Marcion and Paul?Apollonius. Whew.

I have heard of the theory of Pol/Paul, and there are some details that are troubling.
(The companion of Apollonius, as well as scribe was Demis. As per -2 Timothy 4:10 Demas was the companion of Paul See Also Philemon, Verse 24; I Corinthians, Chapter 3: Verses 4 -- 6 & Verse)
They both lived in Tarsus.

Most interesting in the LoA, is when Apollonius is brought before the emperor to be executed, instead of meekly submitting to torture and eventual death like Jesus, he lectured the king (like a philosopher should), and then promptly vanished from the court.

Read Philostratus and his "Life of Appolonius." In it, Apollonius does travel to India where there's an amazing story of him visiting the naked sages there, complete with tables that walked!

Well, here's something that you'll probably enjoy a lot... It was first published in the late 1800's, it's about the Jesus case, and contains tons of channelings/transmissions from all kinds of spirits who lived throughout history... As with all channelings, it's to be taken with a grain of salt, but it does contain a LOT of great information...

http://archive.tc/antiquity-unveiled/

Some excerpts about Paul:

"I salute you, sir:--For my own benefit and personal aggrandizement, I brought to Rome the Pauline Epistles. I obtained them in Antioch. I changed or interpolated them to suit myself; because, being a scholar, and understanding those epistles to contain facts that were not known by the world at large, I thought that they presented a rare opportunity to make myself great. These epistles were written or copied from the originals by Apollonius, Apollos, or Paulus; and in order to disguise the identity of their author, Apollonius of Tyana, I interpolated that description of Paul that was afterward copied by Lucian. The principal foundation of those epistles was the sign of the zodiac known as Aries, the Ram or Lamb. The early Christians, as will be proven by one who comes after me to-day (Lucian), all worshipped a lamb instead of a man on a cross. Those epistles were written in the Cappadocian or Samaritan tongue. It is my duty as a spirit here to-day, to state positively that I was the first person to introduce these epistles to public notice, in A.D. 130, and in the manner I have described. This communication is given for the benefit of all thinkers who wish to be enlightened upon the truth. I was a native of Cappadocia, the country of Apollonius of Tyana; and my name was Marcion."

"My salutation shall be, Death to Falsehood, whether in religion or in political affairs of spirits and mortals. The man who preceded me (Marcion) is the one from whom my description of St. Paul was taken, although never known to me by such a name. He was known to me as Apollos in the Greek tongue; as Paulus in the Roman; and it was understood by all scholars at the time I wrote, as relating to the life, travels and miracles of one Apollonius, the oracle of Vespasian. In fact I merely followed the statements of Marcion, although I knew his statement was incorrect, never for an instant thinking that my description of this person would be seized upon by Christians in after ages to perpetuate their fraud. I was of a satirical disposition of mind, and it made no difference to me if what I wrote was true or false. It was with me as with your dramatic writers of to-day; and it mattered not what events I sought to use, whether sacred or historical, so I could make them suit my purposes."

-- Lucian, a Greek satirist

"No Jew by the name of Jesus Christ was known at Rome in my day; nor did I ever hear from any of the embassadors of the order the name of Christians mentioned. I knew nothing of Paul, but I knew as a mortal and know as a spirit, that Pol was one of the names conferred upon Apollonius of Tyana. I have every reason to believe that the Paul of the Christian Scriptures is Apollonius of Tyana. I have had this view of the matter from one whom I knew in the mortal form, as the result of his investigation. I mean Pliny the Younger, with whom I was intimately acquainted. My name was Pompaeius Saturninus."

"The Christian story, as borne out by the facts, was derived from a Grecian tragedy the hero of which was a dying god, and the first man who taught such a doctrine was Apollonius of Tyana; and he, according to his own manuscripts, got the idea in India from the narrative regarding the Hindoo god Chrishna, which is in reality the Christ of the Christians. In fact you have, through the spirits that are coming to you, the key to all that relates to the Christian religion, in the fact that Apollonius was the Apostle Paul. These documents to which I allude, although opposed to their religion, the Catholics have not destroyed. Whatever originals they possess are in the hands of the Order of Jesus [Jesuits], and no priest is allowed to read them unless he takes the oath of eternal secrecy. There is not a learned Catholic to-day that is in the priesthood, or that has ever been at Rome, but that knows that Christianity is nothing more than an old pagan idea revived, but as it gives them power their lips are sealed. I might speak for an hour, but I could not tell you more than I have done because I have condensed what I had to say. I was librarian of the Vatican prior to A. D. 1607, when I died."

-- Cardinal Caesar Baronius
