Barefoot Doc wrote:

Anyone drink Kombucha tea?

Yes, in fact I have about five gallons of it bubbling away right now. May be ready today!

I personally love coffee, and Turkish is SOOOO! good. But I do love all different kinds. There is a local, smalltime, family owned coffee bean retailer where you can buy green beans and roast them yourself or have them roasted by "Stan the man", the proprietor. Who BTW makes the best cappuccino, espresso, latte, etc. I am serious about this. His level of knowledge about coffees and how to brew them is up there with top wine connisseurs. It is like walking into another world when you go to his place, Baba Boudan's. Anyway, there was a point when I was drinking coffee like water, but after a numbers of years I am happy to say I have managed to find an unforced moderation with coffee so that about once a week I am still able to enjoy it without getting heavy into addiction with it and the ensuing headaches and irritability. Now, I drink alot of tea and water more than anything. Some juice in the morning with blue green algae and a host of other nutritional goodies making an energizing "green drink". But, by far my mainstay is sencha or gunpowder green tea with peppermint. I am addicted to it, my tradeoff for coffee. My mornings and evenings are not the same without it. And on the subject of alcohol, my friends, nothing is like a homebrew. I am just finishing a batch of wheat/barley brew made back in Jan./Feb. Three left out of a case and sixer. This should give you an idea of how much I drink. Noooootttt much! In Dec. I will have about four gallons of mead finished. Apple mead, no less, made from local organic honey and the water from my two hundred foot well. My neighbor has the best water I have ever tasted and would have used it in the brewing, but mine is a definite runner up. He is on a two hindred foot well, also. Same water table, but his is so clean and alive it's even better than Trinity water. Probably because it is not in plastic. Anyway, back to the idea of drinks. I enjoy a good alcoholic beverage on occasion. Typically, I stick to brew and no hard alcohols like whiskey, tequila, and vodka. But, I have sweet spot for Tanqeuray (sp?) and also lemoncello. Not a big wine fan, although mead is a wine. It's just plain good, though! But, as with any alcohol a little goes a long way with me and I like it that way. I go for the flavors and artistry in the process of making it.
Anyone ever heard of a beverage called rejuvelac? It is made from fermented wheatberries and water. I used to make that alot, as well as wheatgrass juice. Both very healthy and energizing.
Urine I will never try unless measures call for it. Know a story of a local man who burned his face nearly off and healed it by drinking his urine! His name is Tater Bug. Real live hillbilly from Arkansas!
