Also, when we become more aware we realize how the system tries to control every facet of our lives. This becomes very irritating, and it causes me to feel quite rebellious.

Maybe......and maybe, as I open to a greater feeling of intuition I recognise the need to gain total control over my own life before I am able to effectively be of service to others.
Its really just a matter of self-control isn't it, an inner discipline.
No negative energy- form on the 'outside' can touch me when, on the inside, I don't allow it to.
This means building myself around sustainable, controlled, thought images since it is through thought that I create my life.
Control, to a lot of people is a horror word.
In order to embrace something new I know I have to let go of something.
Understanding what it is I am about to embrace and having a willingness to letting go of the old, lies in possessing control of the circumstances, myself, because this gives to me the confidence to embrace with an open heart.

Yes, yes indeed. I think that I see and feel what you are saying here. To add something, I think that one of the challenges is giving up control to some degree - giving up the control that the rational mind seems to consistently strive for.

Opening to a greater feeling of intuition.

There is no question that our lives are created through thought, therefore control of one's own mind is of paramount importance.
Modern society, though, demands that the individual surrender control to the common good.
To a very large degree our lives are mapped out for us.
We do retain a freedom to create individually but only if what we conjure up is ecconomically and socially acceptable.
Do these barriers frustrate any of you?
They do me.
