I just finished watching the history channel in which they had an episode for secret societies.

I don't find that STS at all, truthfully. People have made their choices, and now it must play out. If there are people who want my help, the cosmos will bring them to me. I don't fight windmills anymore. There are many paths, and I stick with those on mine. It's a straight and narrow one. Sometimes STO is knowing when to let people figure it out themselves. Tough love can be the best service at times, which can be hard when you're used to "helping".

It's true....that's something I'm learning during the past year, the idea of letting people figure stuff out for themselves.   My instinct has always been to jump in and prevent somebody from doing something that I know will adversly affect them, or to try to convince them of something that they haven't figured out yet. (circumventing their "learning lesson" I guess you could say.   )    Through studying the C's material, and learning from experience, I've finally figured out that sometimes you have to let people be, and this means letting them be to fall on their face, or make the "wrong" choice or whatnot.  It's hard, but I'm learning to do it.  There's a fine line too between not helping at all and being too helpful and cutting somebody off from learning a lesson.  What you described -- letting people who need your help come to you -- is a good middle ground compromise.    There's no freewill violation in that regard.

I still might put the booklet out, after all the content is mostly 90% written already!    Outer and inner covers have been designed as well.   Might as well see it through to fruition, otherwise it seems a terrible waste.   I waiver back and forth between "Oh, what's the POINT!" to "Never give up!!!!"

A number of years back, I wrote an outline of the current social and environmental issues that humanity faces.  Much narrower than the full range of topics discussed on this board, but in sentiment very much along the same lines - letting people know/waking people up.

The working title was "Why Bother?"

Interesting phrase, I think due to multiple meanings.  One, of course, is "why bother - what is going to happen will happen anyway - people don't really change - what's the point"

but ...

another possible meaning is "why bother - as in, here are some reason's why you can bother yourself to take a look.  I telling you why!!  Here's why . . .

Fill in with whatever moves you.

With the direction I'm going, I feel like I do what I do - because it's what I do!!

Not so much to change the world or enlighten people or make money, those may all be side effects - but rather because it's what I do.

For example, water flows downhill, the stars shine, the moon waxes and wanes - and I -

well for now, I research (investigate) and write - learn/teach and teach/learn - Something like that.

It may take courage to have accurate perception.  Humility is important - but can't we also see ourselves as forces of nature?

Perfect opportunity for them to slip something in as being "weird" which might actually have validity.  So yes, DEFINITE spin going on.  Get everybody laughing at the TV thinking "Oh ho ho!  What a bunch of wackos!"  (shakes their head, flips channel on the remote control...)

Seriously, at this point in the game, I'm no longer worried about people who are getting duped and fed spin by TV programs, the news, the media in general.   It's 2005 already.  People who are going to wake up have had their chance by now!   If they're still not awake, or lolling in front of the TV with their tongues hanging out and a trail of drool on their shirt then you know, it's not my issue.  I can't worry about it anymore.   

I know, how horribly STS, I know.  It's mostly born out of frustration.  I was all set last month to put together a booklet for free distribution, designed to help wake up the masses.  Do my part to spread the word about what's going on in this world.  But then I had a change of heart, like, WHY BOTHER??  sigh.

My point is that this show is nothing but pure 'spin'. Completely surreal. It really is unbelievable if you ask me.
