The odd thing is, as someone in the thread pointed out, there appears to be some visual anamoly where the thing was in the previous picture. It could be a cut-and-paste job, a hoax, or it could be in the last stages of going invisible, producing "orbs" which are really just reflections of light before it winks out of existence.

Twenty years ago, I'd have laughed and said he was crazy or making it up or trying to get something over on everyone. Not today - as I've seen something almost identical to that only in the shape of a cube. Like it or not, the 4th dimension and its inhabitants and objects do appear now and then, just as we do to them.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt based on personal experience.

Note: When I saw my object, I was in a hotel with my daughter-in-law, and we were there to hear a lecture by Barbara Marciniak on aliens. **wink** My daughter-in-law saw it too. It was in our room, hovering just over the bed.

Well, it casts a shadow so it's either physical or it pretends to be, probably the former. Furthermore, I don't think it's a hoax since most D&D players, especially fanatic one that put huge maps on their wall, tend to keep that information to themselves, being often ridiculed for their hobby. On the other hand, D&D players (and especially DMs) are trained to think in "layers". So if it was a hoax, he could have thought "hey, if I reveal I'm playing D&D, most people will think I'd never do that if it were a hoax, so they'd believe it". Again, it's probably the former (i.e. no hoax).

It's interesting that the Faerun map has 66 pages, seemingly arranged in a 11x6 grid. The name Faerun closely resembles "Faerie" and it's possible a Fae-creature (Germanic/Celtic folklore/myth) came to take a look and accidently got spotted. It's also possible the 11x6 grid, possibly some of the patterns on the map, and possibly the word Faerun, served as some sort of summoning/invocation thing. It's even possible the original drawers of the map were subconsciously influenced by the real Faerie-realm (Alfheim, Avalon), and that the map resembles parts of that realm.

The person who made the pictures and posted them seems pretty freaked out though, perhaps we should tell him something so he is no longer scared of it? We could also ask him wether the shadow matches the light source(s) in his room. I don't see any other sharp shadows so it's hard to tell.

http://p197.ezboard.com/frasalvatorefor … 2191.topic

Click for pictures.

Hey Forum,
So I got a map of faerun and I printed a whole 66 pages of it out and taped it up to my wall, I thought it would look awesome, and yes it does. So I took a picture of it to show my friend, because he was doing the same, and in the top right corner theirs a bright metal disk, but in the second picture its not, and if you campare the pictures, you can tell that the bright disk is way to high, it should be in the ceiling. I dont know about you, but im paranoid, and this worries me greatly, I dont think its a camera error because their is a shadow for that disk. I tried to take the picture again, to see if it shows it again, but I put new batteries in the camera and their dead. Does any one have an idea what this is? But please dont blow this off, its not a hoax, I dont know what it is. and yes I know its nerdy to make a big map.
