This was faciliated by a person who was building a career as a therapy guru, and now is a nationally famous therapy guru with books, TV appearances and so forth. I have to say that I think that this type of work catapults people into an altered state of consciousness, mostly through hyper-ventilation, and yes it does open doors to other dimensions, early childhood states, and possible past lives, but I now look back at it and see it as more induced trauma based on the 80s and '90s style of cathartic release through recapitualating past experiences. I have also experienced "tetany" and the facilitator blamed me in a very abusive way for my own tetany because she was focused on her own reputation for being a great breathwork facilitator and did not want people to have bad experiences in her breathwork workshops. So, while I think it is "powerful" in the sense that you can bust through barriers at an accelerated pace, I also think that it is dangerous and potentially re-traumatizing to people who have truama issues to begin with. It is important to as Shooting Star mentions to protect yourself etherically (as all OBE experiences should be practiced) and also if you are doing it with others to make sure that it is in a safe, honest and caring environment. There are many New Age gurus who "teach" really powerful techniques for going into alternate reality, but they do not have the inner development to assist people with any depth or real exploration of truth when really intense experiences arise, many like to focus on superficial Gestalt-like cathartic release with screaming, yelling and choking and so forth, but it is often the therapists preference for that type of "work" that leads people to have these so-called cathartic release experiences in the first place. so my expereince has me saying "be careful, protect your soul and spirit as only you can and do not assume that other people care about it as much as you do"-lala

Hi, Dreamosis. Not heard of Holotropic breathing but my life changed when I was given a book called Breathe Deeply, Laugh Loudly by Judith Kravitz. It's transformational breathing and that's exactly what it does. Won't share every experience with you but if you are a true spiritual warrior and wish to unblock/connect/ feel the prescence of the One then this is for you. Many people bottle out as it can be very intense. One thing I will say is when i started it, I woke up looking like Quasi modo, which was very strange. The breath clears blocks that you may have had forever and wherever the block is, then the arm, leg...etc basically twists.(impossible to do in a normal state!) It's called tetany. Apparently it's normal... Thank God! But, Oh the connection it gives you. My third eye was on fire afterwards and I could see my aura. If you do try any deep breathing, please protect first as it can leave you very vunerable. I had a few nasties coming through, but I really do reccomend it. However, it's not for the fainthearted! I'll put the address and web page. Let me know how you get on as I'm an absoluete fan of breathing! Good luck! And hope this has helped.

ps. One thing I will share is that I saw a dark room with lots of people with their heads down ... and then very slowly, they lit up like lightbulbs. I didn't understand it then but I think I was being shown the switch on of many people, the waking up. It was great!

www.breathe2000.com
address:
Transformational Breath Foundation PO Box 313, Center Sandwhich, NH 03227
