"Architects of the Underworld" talks about this sort of thing, two factions fighting each other.  I wonder how valid this is.

We recently got 'shooting the breeze' about trans-dimensional beings, and also how each continent is possibly controlled by 'one family' and other such things - and I remembered this series of books.

This is interesting, because the Bible talks about there being princes/angels of different countries that struggle against each other.  Also, Egypt and the power struggles there come to mind.  "Architects of the Underworld" talks about this sort of thing, two factions fighting each other.  I wonder how valid this is.

Its well worth a read as it contains lots of incredible parallels to what's going on now and also a possible extrapolation of technology into the future (such as e-mail devices implanted in people's brains) that I wanted to share it with you.

My only problem is neither Baz nor I can remember the series.  Der !  So I thought I'd give a bit of a synopsis in the hope that someone in NR might have come across them ... Here goes ...

It starts in earth's future - with some conscripts being taken to an earth-like planet that has been terraformed - and they are going there as slave/workers or face a death sentence.  At the same time a life-form on the planet accidentally rips a whole from ordinary 3D dimension into the astral one, and an evil STS being uses this as a doorway and takes over a human body by terrorizing the person mentally until he gets lets him in. 

Disembodied (dead) entities then, one by one, take over human bodies by causing them pain and promising them that the pain will stop if they let a disembodied entity into their body.  (It means that the original soul is trapped somewhere within a small part of the mindset of the new entity that is taking over their body.  Because these beings come from another dimension they are able to modify the bodies they are in and make them more beautiful, macho, strong, etc (but at a price - as discovered later).

These beings gradually move to other planets and start to take over at an almost exponential rate.   One being that takes over a body is Fletcher Christian (from Mutiny on the Bounty) but he has strong ethics and actually helps humans in the fight against the takeover of the bodies.

There is also a famous singer from one planet who has the ability to shape shift and her skin takes on different forms according to her mood.  She takes up position as a ganster's 'moll' by Al Capone who takes over a body and sets up a mobster organisation who realise what they can do now they're in the future with all this new technology.

In the meantime, planet earth is ruled by 5 or so (illuminati type) families who run each continent.  They have regular discussions as to how its run.  One of them is called Charlie and he runs Europe.  His base is in what used to be London. There's a power struggle going on between each of these ruling hierarchy.

Earth's atmosphere because of global warming etc etc is too toxic and unlivable for humans. So they all live in archologies - huge enclosed parts of the globe. 

On another planet and interacting as 'observers' of mankind, is a group of benevolant wise beings in dinosaur like bodies.  (!)  They do not allow humans to their system of planets as they are millions of light years ahead of them and have surpassed even technology.  Their planets are dedicated more to the enlightenment of their species.  One human child is accidentally transported there when she is playing with a offspring of this species and the offspring is transported home in an emergency. She ends up as an intermediary between the two races.

The only way the humans can beat the STS beings taking over the human bodies is - a group of soldiers download their minds into cyborg type bodies, as the STS can't take them over.

It becomes a battle of good versis evil and has a very interesting ending.
Has anyone read this?  Hope its not too fantasy-based for this forum, but I wanted to read this again / share it here - because it has threads of 'truth' in many levels through it - and all put into such a fantastic epic story.

I'm also curious as to what 'light reading' we all do.

I really liked the Clan of the Cave Bear series by Jean M Auel, set in the Ice age.  I was fascinated by the level of this woman's research into the ice age.  Also the way she perceives the homo sapiens way of thinking compared with neanderthals.  Not an alien in site, but a lovely look at human the growth of human civilization and how people think.

I read Lord of the Rings twice before it came out in film.  (And the films definitely did the books justice). 

I also read a series of books called ??the Golden Torc? where some people from our future went back in time to prehistoric age only to find aliens with superior technology were enslaving them. They did this by putting torcs (metal bands) around their necks and using them as devices to talk mentally to them (and ?electrocute them if they were disobedient). 

This is interesting as some of the bronze age kings have been found in burial sites with this shape torcs  http://www.sheshen-eceni.com/icenian.html - and gold is a perfect conductor for electricity, so there could be a possibility that ancient nobility were controlled by these collars.

This series of books takes another look at how aliens and humans shaped what we now know as earth.  Good food for thought.

Also, has anyone read The Oversoul Seven Series by Jane Roberts (Seth channeller).  While I couldn't get into Seth's books, I found this one great to read.  It presents so many interesting concepts, such as what you do in one time you alter past and future.  Creating reality. Concept of Souls and Oversouls/Higher Selves.  Dreams as memories of teaching from Higher Self - with memories of other lifetimes. Souls 'dying' waiting to be reborn and struggling with being in a new body. And heaps more.  Great read, I thought. 

I read Sitchin's books too.  I don't know, some of it seemed plausible - some of it seemed way off.  Wouldn't know if this was disinformation or just someone's theories based on what they've gleaned as 'facts'.  I found it good to get my mind thinking along other lines though - certainly at the time.
