It's very frustrating........can't get a straight answer, Yes or No, from any site.   It's all speculation.  "Are they or aren't they??"  "are they related??"  "Eric Blair was a whistleblower...."  Pages and pages of speculation.  grrrr.

Would be nice to know, once and for all, set the record straight.  Although the mere fact that there's a lack of sites (so far...) that are able to debunk this is suspicious in itself....

EDIT:  meanwhile, have found numerous sites verifying that Aldous Huxley was in fact, a Freemason.  Interesting.  I had no idea, but it was obvious to me from the symbolism....Oh, like you know, the big glowing "T", the "33"rd floor.  Etc.  Etc.   

Seems like straw grabbing to me. There are, no doubt, many thousands of people with this last name, of no consequence, with no "inside information".

Um, well, I read it on "icke"about a year or so ago, so, that's where I got that from.     I didn't actually research it via genelogical websites.  Figured David Icke's British, so he probably knows more about his peeps then we do over on this side of the pond.    But, that's where it comes from.  Interestingly enough when I tried to Google it to see once and for all if Mr. Icke was right, I couldn't come up with anything either way, yay or nay.   Saw websites where people were asking if this was true, but, no definitive answers.   I'm just wondering why nobody seems to be able to definitively say either way what the deal is...................Meanwhile, all we have is David Icke saying it's so.   Who knows!

I will try to dig deeper with this one, see what I come up with.   And if I'm wrong in trusting Icke, and it turns out Icke was mistaken, I will definitely update!

Hmm, well,  I cited several passages offhand which were riddled with symbolic numbers / symbolisms for people to look at.   

Besides Alushe, I'm not making any claims.  The symbolisms are there.   Whether or not they point to Huxley being a Freemason or not is up to you to decide.  But there's no doubt that the there is "suspect symbolism" as I call it.     I just pointed out the passage to bring attention to it and for Noble Realmers' further investigation.

Another thing to note about 1984 is that George Orwell, real name Eric Blair, is a relative of British Prime Minister Tony Blair.   Meaning:   He was on the inside.  He knew some things.  His book was a warning to the public of what was in store and up the sleeves of TPTB, because he personally knew the plan.

There are rumours of Aldous Huxley being a Freemason, but then again, there are also rumours that everybody's beloved David Icke is a Freemason. As for the "not so subtle references" used in the book, I argue that masonry, conspiracies and the illuminati are a grounded part of popular culture; I would like to see some more evidence and credible sources before I believe such a claim.

As far as Aldous Huxley is concerned, author of "A Brave New World", I suspect he was a secret society member, based on the not so subtle references you can find in the book.  Some possible proof for this:

-  Chapter 5, Part 2 -  Bernard attends a meeting at the Fordson Community Singery.  Outside the buliding is a gigantic illuminated "T."   The T is supposed to be in reference to the Ford Model T, but I think that was just a cover.   Try the Masonic T square.    Fits a little better.

- The meeting is held on the 33rd floor of the building.   Hello!   Classic Masonic number, as in the Scottish 33rd rite.

-  At the meeting Bernard runs into a "Morgana Rothschild."   Morgana = The legend of King Arthur;  Rothschild = self explanatory.    Bloodline family.

- At the meeting an elaborate ritual is performed - sitting in a circle, passing a cup around, popping Soma pills, and chanting / singing hymns with several references to "12 in 1" (aka 13). And it concludes with chanting a song called "Orgy Porgy" which is (obviously) in reference to a sexual orgy all the while as the tom-tom drums beat.   As most here are aware, the secret societies often engage in ritualistic sex orgies at the culmination of their rituals.

There's more, but those are the highlights.      VERY good book, worth getting.  It's not nearly as realistic and accurate as "1984" is, but still a very well written book and a good read.

I first picked it up to look at about 10 years ago, and since the first line said something about the clock striking 13 o'clock, I thought, How dumb!  That's not accurate!   I figured it was going to be some really lame-o book which tried -- VERY unsucessfully -- to predict how life in the future would be.   Based on the 13 o'clock thing I put it back down, walked away, and didn't think about it again til about a year and a half ago.   I'd go to David Icke's headlines page and see that Icke was always talking about "New Speak" and "Orwellian" this and "Orwellian" that, with pics of George Orwell all over.     My interest piqued, I went to Barnes and got a copy, along with "A Brave New World" which I had actually read before but forgot most of.    Bought both, and devoured them up.  I was SHOCKED how good "1984" was................and how dead on accurate it ended up being.   It's a case of being "the right book at the right time."  It just wasn't the right time for me 10 years ago.   I didn't get it, and besides, it was only 1995 -- pre-9/11 -- things were different back then.     Since 9/11 we truly live in a very different world, one that has very quickly become very much like what you see in "1984."   Even if I had given it a chance 10 years ago it wouldn't have mattered, because it wouldn't have "clicked" since the world was still chugging along obliviously back then.  Things are picking up like a snowball rollin' down a mountain now. 

"A Brave New World" is also another must-read, and should be considered a companion piece to "1984".
