I once heard that 80% of the population is misemployed. Robots putting in their 40 hrs a week. I know I have felt that way in the past when I had mediocre jobs. Thats why we had weekends, to drink & forget our mediocre existance. So I can see why many people would be interested in finding their lifes purpose, cause they damm sure know puttin in 40 hrs at a factory ain't it.

Neomatrix wrote:

What a load of utter bunk that is. "Everything is meaningless." Okay, I'll slit my wrists now then. It amazes me the kind of nonsense that circulates around the Internet these days. Your life's purpose is whatever you want it to be. Nuff said.

Hmm, I don't feel the nihilism you're describing as anything to do with what the author promotes. Personally, the more I get in touch and align with my soul / higher self / destiny, the more meaningful my experiences become. When I look back in time, I feel that I was mostly drifting aimlessly, using my mind / social conditionning (which includes even the most "alternative" "lifestyles") to decide where to go next. Clarity of mind is of course not permanent, but I feel it's the most useful quality to seek in these times.

Well, since "different timelines accomplish different things", the only thing I can say is, look around at your current reality / timeline, see what tools are available to you, what your options are, how you may be of service in your particular situation, what you can do that would be meaningful with what you have in this timeline, then go for it. Every timeline has different options, different possibilities. There is no one set thing. Only a general outline and idea. The key is to make the most of what you have wherever / whenever you currently are.

This is why we have so many different religions, and so many divisions within them. It's like the Bill Clinton defense: "What do you mean by the word 'is'?" Sure, perhaps parts and pieces of what they say will be generally understandable enough to provide impetus, but at some point these training wheels, as it were, have to be removed.

An excellent book on the subject is called "The Superbeings" by John Randolph Price. It sums up the most important tenets of the wisdom teachings in an easily-accessible, contemporary style, and is a slim volume at just over 100 pages. It would make an excellent (anonymous?) gift for anyone with whom you want to share some of these teachings without risking turning them away or overburdening them. Cheap, also, in trade paperback.

Just an added note, for clarity. From what I read Mark had a successful but very corporate life until recently ... when he just ventured out and "found" his purpose. In other words, to him realizing that life actually isn't just $600 a day hotels and meals but something deeper was revelatory and brought him great joy.

This "finding your purpose" part of his life, seems to be part of his journey now ... and of course it's a huge button for lots of people who know that there must be more than just a 6 pack or in his case a bottle of Dom Perignon ...

He found some answers for himself - my guess is that many/most of us have found similar answers -- about our purpose which could very well be as simple yet complex as living life and learning.

Chrsitine B.

Bumblebee,

Thanks for doing some research and finding these links. I've spent a most enjoyable morning going through Mark's site, his family portraits and remembering my own journeys to South Africa, Scotland and the UK. He seems very forthright and personally I think his "way" to find ones purpose would work. Of course he comes off quite salesman like ... his father was quite a follower of Dale Carnegie and Mark's CV (resume) is pretty impressive. Doesn't make him any less of a seeker though ... to my mind. He has found his own happiness and wants to share it. Seems honest and caring.

Again, thanks for your curiosity and to Alushe for originating this thread.

Christine B.

The three mirror links to the free document all go to the same commercial site giving an error. So the server is not busy, the pdf just hasn't been posted there correctly or has been removed for quite some time.

Markus P. Hart seems to be Michael B. Haupt (see WW3 newsletter 10. For the past three weeks I’ve been island hopping in the (mostly) unspoiled Andaman Sea (Gulf of Thailand), with the purpose of establishing whether there are islands that could be a safe haven for a strategic relocation when the time requires such a move.)

http://www.michaelhaupt.com/

On his conspiracy site ww3news.com I read:
"I hate adverts, pop-ups, requests for donations, garish flashing logos, audio's that play unannounced and other useless clutter. Life is complicated enough. You won't find a single advert behind this page, and I hope you'll find that refreshing."

Yet I do see non-intrusive banners (which I don't mind), and a free downloadable internet explorer bar (which can be used for all kinds of commercial purposes). He goes into that in this forum thread (mbh66) and this one.

"See what all the fuss is about..."

What fuss, created by whom? On his pages Michael mentions:
"Interests are historical research, particularly in the area of Conspiratorial History, online marketing and international travel."

Conspiratorial History, like the Meaning of Life, the Universe and Everything can indeed be selling points.
Still I find myself a bit curious to his little booklet and his experiences. He has setup a webforum where you can read his musings on life.

Some quotes in his forum:

"Lately I too have been crying more than I ever have. God has been showing me things that leave me breathless."

"As recently as in the last 7 days, the 30-plus frustrating years of searching for answers culminated in an indescribable clarity of purpose. I know now why God has put me on this earth. I’ve found my life purpose: to show others how to find their life purpose.
Right now, I'm scared. I'm thrilled. I’m shattered. I’m hyped.
My mind is spinning with ideas, and the next few days or weeks will be spent refining them into something useful to all mankind."

I don't know the man, but to me it sounds as if he's sincere and has had a profound experience.

update: i found the pdf here.
all hail the poyl zone! good stuff. alushe, perhaps it wasn't a coincidence you've got the mail at the time of the comedown after all (try to reach to poyl zone without legal highs?) - in any case thanks for passing it my way.

neomatrix: if someone points to transcendence this doesn't automatically mean this person devalues immanence.

You know what I was told during a meditation? I asked "WHY AM I HERE!?!?!? WHAT'S THE PURPOSE OF ME BEING HERE?!?!? WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO BE DOING HERE?!!? AHHHH!" I felt at the time that I was drifting aimlessly and couldn't figure out what I was "supposed" to be doing here.

I was told, quote,

"Different timelines accomplish different things."

That was it. Said in a very matter of fact, amused way. Such a C's type answer and it caught me offguard. I wasn't expecting that. I was expecting a solid, concrete direct answer, some definitive "thing" that I was here to do. I didn't get the answer I was looking for at all. I got something that made me think, but when I did, I realized it made sense.

Different timelines accomplish different things. There is no set reason for us being here. Sure, maybe we had some general outline or something when we incarnated, but the fact is, things change. Nothing is usually set in stone. For every choice you make, there's the choice you didn't make, the "other timeline". That other timeline may very well allign you with a new batch of people and set you off and running down an entirely different path. The more you move around in life, the more jobs you have, the less stagnant you are, then that's the more timelines you create and the more opportunities that open up. Suddenly, that one definitive reason or "purpose" for being here fades further and further away with every new timeline branch.

I'm sure on every timeline I have an affiliation for writing, but it manifested in different ways depending on what my life circumstances are in those timelines. In some the writing thing is probably more prominant than others. In other timelines I may have persued interests that I'm not doing in this timeline, depending on where life took me on those timelines. I'm probably not a conspiracy theorist in EVERY timeline!

You get the idea. There is no one set reason for us being here, some definitive concrete purpose. We come here with a general idea of what we'd like to learn and accomplish, then we're off and running and after that, anything goes. Anything can happen. Just go with it, be flexible. Don't make yourself distraught thinking there's this "ONE THING!!" you're "SUPPOSED!!" to be doing and that if you don't figure out what it is, you're missing out on it and being a flop. Personally, I think if anybody is out there promoting that then they are pushing bunk. It doesn't make any sense, not when you understand the concept of multiple parallel timelines, which is a quantum physics concept and which most people have never heard of.
