Yay! I saw APC in 2000 at the Arial Theater in Houston - Maynard had on a big pair of diapers - 'course that was back when Paz was still on bass . . . Pazz . . *drools*

My favorites - calling for illumination in Thomas from Mer de Noms, calling for healing in Brena from Mer de Noms, The Noose from Thirteenth Step is utterly brilliant, and Let's Have a War from eMOTIVe saved that entire album for me . . .

Umm wow! big_smile Dosen't seem like something they would do _now_ . . but he has been known to perform wearing wigs and a uhh boustea or whateva . . .

I saw them twice in Sept. 2001!!! in San Antonio and Woodlands in north Houston. Best shows I've ever seen - in S.A., Maynard scolded the crowd about not giving props to Tricky _and_ for using cameras .  .  he said something about being in the moment experiencing it and that they 'loose the moment' somehow by using cameras . . in Houston, Tricky played _with_ them on the last two songs - the last one was Opiate and Tricky did backup vocals; there were these two giant screens on each side and on that part they both had these mechanical arms - it was nuts.

They did the Salival version of Pushit on one of them . . .

Some really beautiful songs by Therion: Seawinds and Raven of Dispersion.

Re: The Music Thread

The Facts Of Life Love the downtempo beats, the minimal guitar, and the vocal samples with the tongue planted firmly in the cheek ^__^

Underwear Goes Inside the Pants  Another track of theirs that deserves to be in this thread (under humour in particular), same big beats, lusher instrumentation, and a tad more sardonic with its social comment than the one above

Re: The Music Thread

Undo by Bjork has some interesting ambient D&B followed by some really angelic voice samples.

Another set of really emotionally moving tracks comes from the soundtrack for the movie K-Pax - If you haven't seen it . . GO NOW. big_smile

Grand Central, July 27th, and Taxi Ride

Re: The Music Thread

Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells is well worth listening to he was only 20 when he made this groundbreaking album back in 1973 and plays every instrument.
Hergest Ridge and Ommodawn are even better IMO, they will never sound the same twice as you discover more in the multi layered music each time you play them.
Did not like Mikes venture into popular music in the 80s apart from the song
To France, one of the most beautiful pop songs ever written with a haunting celtic melody that will bring a tear to the eye.
