the letter/shape O and it's signifigance?

http://i2.tinypic.com/6pei1cp.png

What is the significance of the letter O?  I've been noticing people/businesse's use the letter/shape "O" in a spiritual way a lot of the time.  They usually make it so it resembles the sun, or the tunnel of light people see when they die?  I have no desire to eat cherrios , fruit loops, or donuts anymore.  If the word devil/angel can make a water crystal lose it's center, I wonder what eating food that has no center can do to your health?  This probabaly all sounds crazy.  lol

I remember watching an old movie when I was young.  Was it, "Vertigo" maybe?  There was a comment that insane people had a commonality of being fascinated by circles.  That displayed our materialistic type of psychology which reigned in America.  What am I saying, it still does to a large extent.

That image says, the man is so virile that he needs great restraint.  This is the type of man that buys Sure.

Re: the letter/shape O and it's signifigance?

In the astral world, (soul world), everything comes and go in circle (what goes around comes around).

Inner experience. The self-enclosedness of the soul, of experience in the astral world.

Think about loops, double loops (the Cs explained this)...

Everything in perceived in reverse, also.

In dreams, things or beings coming at you are in fact coming FROM you.

I A O

I= spiritual (self)
A= etheric world (like a compass that gives form to the world and the life forms, )
O= astral (soul) world

Re: the letter/shape O and it's signifigance?

morningsun76..................I just noticed something in the movie poster for "V For Vendetta," thanks to this thread, and the illustrations you posted about the 1 and 0.

http://www.obsessedwithfilm.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/12/v_for_vendetta_erased_info_2.jpg

Check out V's dagger cutting through the "O" in "For."

So, what does this mean anyway??  The whole "1" or line cutting through the "O" ? The "V" movie poster is especially interesting since the movie takes place in England, just like the images you posted from Jordan's site I think, featuring two pics from England.

Hey Lyra,

Good catch.

There's a lot of occult symbolic meaning to the letters I and O, or the numbers 1 and 0.    If you research the subject, you'll find many different interpretations, but generally the idea is that "IO" relates to God.    It's difficult to find a simple explanation, but I think this paragraph by Alvin Boyd Kuhn is a good start:

It is derived from the two letters (or numbers) which in the beginning of typology symbolized the two first elements, spirit and matter, into which the primal One Life bifurcated. They are the I (or 1) symboling the male or spirit, and the O (letter) or 0 (cipher) symboling the female or material universe. Together they represented the biune male-female deity. We have, then, the letters IO, or the number 10. As the vowels were freely interchanged, in ancient languages, the name was written either IO, IA, IE, or IU, and all these forms are found. Next the I transformed into consonantal value and became a J (as it is yet in Latin), so that we find the names JO, JA, JE and JU, from each of which many names have arisen. When the creation had combined the male and female and the two had given birth to the Son, or Logoic universe, the name was given the form of three letters, and we then find such forms as IAO, JAH, IEO, JEU, ZUE. When the universe became founded on the four cardinal points or the square of four dimensions, the name was spelled variously as IEOU, JOVE, ZEUS, JEVE, DIOS, T/HEOS, HUHI, IHUH and others. In its character as a sevenfold or seven-lettered name, it took the form of JEHOVAH, SABAOTH, DEBORAH, DELILAH, SEP/HIROT/H, MICHAEL, SOLOMON, and others of seven letters. The I permuted with l (el) or 1 (one), so that IE became LE or, inverted EL, the great Hebrew character of deity. The EL and the IAH (JAH), became the most frequent determinatives of divinity, as a host of names will testify. There are Bethel, Emanuel, Michael, Israel, Gabriel, Samuel, Abdiel, Uriel, Muriel Azazel, and many others, in which the EL is prefixed. The JAH is seen in such names as EliJAH, AbiJAH, while the IAH comes in a host of such names as Nehemiah, Jeremiah, Obediah, Hezekiah, Isaiah, Messiah, Alleluiah and more.

(emphasis added)
Source: http://www.theosophical.ca/sungods.htm

I think the occult significance of this is that it all boils down to the the idea of polarity -- that the entire material universe is derived from two fundamentally opposing forces.    Positive and negative, emerging from the void.

This sounds pretty abstract, but here is an example in modern science: when you tune a radio to a frequency where there is no station, you hear static.   Or turn a TV to an empty channel, you get the same thing (the "snow" on the screen is just a visual form of the static.)   That's the absence of a signal ... nothingness.

Now, we know that all modern technology (TV, computers, telephone, etc) is based on "digital" communications -- 1's and 0's arranged in a meaningful way.    By modulating electrical currents or radio waves in such a way where a certain arbitrary point on the wave represents 1, or "ON," and another point means 0, or "OFF," then you can start giving meaning to what is otherwise total chaos.   Like in this picture:

http://forum.noblerealms.org/pics/184_waveform1.jpg

Using the above illustration, if we say that when the signal hits +5 volts, that means "ON," and when it hits -5 volts, that means "OFF."   A totally arbitary definition -- we could reverse those meanings if we wanted, and it would work just as well.  As long as we agree what part of the wave means "ON" and what part means "OFF," though, we can communicate digitally.     By putting a bunch of ON/OFF signals in a sequence, we can then start to give real meaning to the signal:

http://forum.noblerealms.org/pics/184_waveform2.gif

So, each of the above three electrical signals has a different meaning.   Scientists soon started to say that a certain sequence of 1's and 0's would mean the letter "A," another would mean "B," etc.    Actually, they came up with a system for whole alphabet, punctuation marks, etc.    So if you hear computer people talking about "binary," that's what it is.   And building on this foundation, you can transmit the entire Library of Congress, your favorite record album, or high-definition movie, and it's all ultimately still based on simple 1's and 0's.

From an occult perspective this is how many surmise the universe itself came about.   The checkerboard is another symbol which alludes to the same basic idea.    Light and dark, good vs. evil, all emanating from the ultimate "unknown."       And so we see this kind of symbolism all over the place, in secret societies, government, etc.

EDIT: The 1 "cutting through" the 0, as in your example, is also an explicit reference to the sex act.   This also relates back to God insofar as sex represents the generative principle by which life is created.
