I'm reading this book named 'Silencing Dissent' by Clive Hamilton & Sarah Maddison. Basically the book is about the crazy amount of censorship the Howard Govt. of Australia is enforcing regarding any criticism of them and their's. The authors ask the question whether this is deliberate or it just comes with the Howard territory. Definitely deliberate IMO. Anyhow, the book details how some people in the media had their homes ransacked by the federal police because they published leaked material. I suppose no one likes their privacy invaded, but no one likes their homes invaded by relative strangers at the crack of dawn either.
As for Peter Garrett, lobotomized or turncoat? Turncoat IMO, although he may of been pushed and shoved into chewing down Howard policies. Still... he seemed so fierce and outspoken before, never afraid to make a point and now all of sudden he's just another Howard lackey.
